A user at my-symbian has reported that after playing with the P1 for a while he found out that the P1 has the same "CText" bug as the P990, it has the same fw. For those who haven't followed, this bug means that if you get/compose an email with over 2000 characters/2 paragraphs, the application aborts without saving your text. The same bug also effects the notes application and any application that uses the CText layout control.

What is This CText layout anyway, a type if text input method, or a feature that can be ignored regardless of text input?

Also seems it FIRMWARE/OS related not hardware related then. SO its obsolvable.

A little snippet on a possible release date - Stuff Magazine has the P1 listed under "October". Seems like a way off still...

That's quite strange when everyone I've talked to (I work in a cellphone store) say early august in Sweden.

Yup. Strange indeed. I got an email just the other day saying definitely quarter 3 for P1 and q4 for W960.

If SE have since then decided to delay it, this will have a knock on effect on the W960

P.s no info for supporting or not the megabass func from P1.. Of course 50% of the offical SE specs are with megabass, the other 50% without it + even in the latest P1's whitepaper is not mantioned megabass TM, but still in many specs is figuring.. omg what a ignorance..

Tnx.
According to me from the reviews read from me, where is said the music playback is higher than the p990+better quality+good quality via bluetooth stereo headset too, I can say taht it's possible to have similar to W950's music chips etc. in P1 too..? Or I'm wrong? Cause if I'm not wrong, the diferences between the w960 and P1 in music quality (not in extra features and visualization) should be quite similar.. And if thats true(I hope so) I will get a P1 cause w9600 will go out too late in(in the winter) and will be much more expensive.. yes bluetooth stereo headsets in package, but the price - the headset's price will be still huge i'm sure..

Only one is sure, when we compare their music quality in the shop will be 100% sure.. I guess they will be similar.. And I won't give more money for later model that has a "walkman" player.. Only for one visualization(maybe will be the main difference if quality is even)-qwerty keypad-IR-1120mah

It's a matter of taste+real experience with the phone, that will happen soon :D

Shall we ask about it on the SE partner support?

Hi Lisa,

Did you ask SE about H264 codec support in the P1i?

Thanks,
Malcolm

Hi all,

But even if SE says so what difference will that make? the P990 white paper said it would support MAC's which of course it didn't. According to SE there are no real problems with the P990, M600 or W950 just how can trust anything these people say any more is just beyond me.

But it's your money so do as you please but it will be a cold day in hell before SE see another penny from me.

The raeson why SE treat you like this is quite simply you continue to give them the benifit of the doubt and let them and at the end of the day you get what you deserve.

Marc

In that case it will probably be coming with the same bugs as the P990 since they have the same fw.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD
