according to posts here its pot luck and the best suggestion is that if you are buying in a shop then check the phone before leaving the shop.
even then there is no guarantee it will stay firm but someone here seems to have come up with a DIY solution for this

it started with 6280, some weree way too loose, some were ok. nokia replaced it, but its really up to the operator or the shop, if they are ready to foght with nokia cos of it. most replecement was the same loose ones, nokia said, sorry thats all. later the 2. edition of 6280 hasnt got this loose bug.

to be honest, if its a bit loose, it wont brake that easily, cos it has a little play. if its not loose, its brakes very very easy

If you want an easier fix (instead opening up your casing) to wobble problem, try this. Make sure the foam is thick enough to push up against the top slide but not so thick that the top slide cannot slide over. Make sure you stick to correct side of the wobble (usually it is the right side when holding phone upright).
Do not use rubbery type foam as this has too more surface resistant and the foam can be dislodged.
1. Solved wobble when the slide is closed
2. Solved wobble when slide is open to normal (keypad) side as foam is in the centre supporting slide.
3. Do not solve wobble when slide to player button side (but most phone dont have this problem)

OK just had my third N95 now and yet again the slide wobbles. Not as bad as the last one, just wish i had kept the first one there was nothing wrong with that slider and a hard reset would have sorted the phone itself.Who said things can only get better! |

are these replacements you have brandnew is the box sealed?
networks have a tendancey to give out phones which people have returned
My local 02 shop always have the boxes open for some reason,
but they always show you the phone before you leave.

If you can get it exchanged, by all means do that. But for those who cannot, there is no harm in putting that small piece of stick-on to get rid of slight wobble. Anyway, if do it nicely (use black colored foam), it will blend in very well and you can hardly noticed it. |

Mines wobbley as as well. I've been toying with whether to get in touch with t-mob. I imagine mine isnt as bad as some, but then I have no idea really. It's very annoying.
I've heard some crash though, or some wobble even more. So I'm in a rock and hard place, I don't know whether to stick with what I have or risk getting one that crashes or is even worse
Will T-Mob send me one and then I send mine back or will I have to go without a phone?
