I have been unable to send MMS using my P990 for a few weeks now and it hasn't really bothered me until now!

I have downloaded the settings again from SE's website and they still wont send!

Can anyone on o2 using a P990/W950/M600 post the settings for your MMS account, to see if mine differs in anyway!

Another thing i have noticed is that when taking a picture and pressing send the p990 simply state's the picture may be too large for the recipient but offers no solution to resize! surely this function should be available!

I do not even get that when receiving them...

But this is what I got from o2 couple of months ago... to help me with my settings....

I've listed the GPRS and MMS settings for your Sony Ericsson W950i.

A) GPRS settings:

Tap on the Menu key
Select Tools
Select Connection
Scroll to O2WAPGPRS
Select more
Select settings
Select Internet Accounts
Scroll to o2wapgprs, press edit
Account Name: O2WAPGPRS
Address wap.o2.co.uk
Ensure username and password is ticked
Username: o2wap
Password: password
Press save
Highlight o2wapgprs, press edit,
Select more
Press TCPIP
Select IP configuration and check its set to automatic
Select Proxy
tick proxy server
Proxy server address: 193.113.200.195
Proxy port: 8080
Press save twice
Press done
To Test the Wap
Select Web
Select more
Select bookmarks
Select o2 Home

The GPRS Pay and GO settings are now complete.

B) MMS Settings

Select Messages
Select More
Select settings
Select MMS account
Select O2 MMS
Server Address: mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002
Internet Account: Select o2wapgprs
Auto download off
Download Size No restrictions
Select Advanced settings
Validity maximum
Priority normal
Creation Mode free
Press save

Hope it works for you...

But does anyone else know... or at least managed to receive a picture message in the proper form on the P990i using either o2 contract or payandgo settings?

I remember I had that for a while... and changed the internet access from the original MMS preference to the O2 GPRS internet account... and it sent straight away?

I did own the M600i... but I do not recall having the same issues with that... fair point that I probally did not use it to send pics more than half a dozen times... but the P990i does have me frustrated....

I've had a similar problem... i think i could have been the same thing.
I just noticed this when my messages werent being sent... slighty fustrating.

I've played around with the settings and did all sorts...
first i called customer service and asked them to send me the settings for MMS to my P990.. they did,
instal the setting and replace any current settings...(the settings should automatically be saved into your message inbox)
Now..
goto to Internet connection manager... you can go to 'control panel'
or select it from the start menu intermanager, internet accounts...

Select and DELETE ALL setting relating to O2 accounts

Now, go to your inbox and reinstall the 'Auto config' in order they arrived
ok, now go to MMS account setting,
select down on 'internet profile' and select 'O2 MMS'

and save and exit...

try now sending a message... should work!

if not then u've got a problem, normal MASTER RESET would help

Turns out o2 had "simply" turned off the service and "ALL" i needed to do was contact them for them to switch it back on, so i thanked them and asked them why they felt the need to turn MMS off in the first place, to which the nice lady replied "i'm not sure sir is there any thing else i can help you with today?"

Great!!

nanu, sorry i missed this thread. the big give away was receiving a text to send you to a web page to view the message which points to MMS being disabled at network level
