I notice today the Sony Ericsson Support > Update Service page now includes the W880i.

I have succesfully updated my w880i from R1C002 to R1JC002. Does anyone here know what the differences are?

thanks!

Yup mine is a branded one - UK Vodafone. I think the last 3 numbers are refer to the branding? Not entirely sure...

According to wotan "R1KC001 CID52" is the lates available firmware for the w880i. I only recently flashed to "R1JE001 CID51". The firmware you are discussing is about 2 versions old according to wotan.

Once my battery has charged i will flash to the latest "R1KC001 CID52" firmware and report back here, or in the w880 discussion thread.

Well i just updated too R1Kc001 have not really noticed any difference, word of warning i had too update to CID52 this uses a login as well so the new update takes 2 logins.

Also because it is updating the CID it master resets the phone menu so everything gets wiped. First thing i noticed though after restart instead of loading up the default city beat theme it now loads up the walkman theme. Will post any other differences i find. Any questions just ask.

Does W880i R1KC001 remove video preview as well? It does in K800i.

my w880i randomly turns itself off, or the backlight fails to work, and the battery has to be removed :s

hi guys,

this is really a noob question, but where can you see which firmware you have on the w880i? Mine it's branded with t-mobile. Recently bought.
I would think that firmwareversion will be on the phone status or something, but it ain't there
