probably, because to get voice guidance it needs to know exactly where you are so it can tell you where to go

my garmin gps will show me the route if I have the GPS off, but it will only talk to me when I activate the GPS and it is actually tracking

aha, thx very very much. imo its a great offer from nokia, to present free such a solution. however i dont even have driving licence, its great to use it just for checking accomondations, restaurants etc all around the world, or even view the route in 2d/3d.

its worth mentioning that this is not restricted to Nokia, its also available for windows mobile phone too!

indeed, thx for the correction, forgot to mention it. never used gps before, but the knowledge and info it offers it very good. whole europe is about 2.2 mb and western europe in very detailed, esatern europe is different, according the countries.

I think your wrong about the file size - England alone is 90mb

Wonder if this works on the N95!

I don't get the GPS on the N95, do I have to pay for it or what?!?

i might be wrong, but isnt this app incl in n95? according the built in gps, u should have the smart2go ( aka maps ) in the fone...

the maps are built in but the voice guidance you pay for by subscrption I believe
