Any ideas guys on how to check if you bought an original battery of sonyericsson? Because nokia has a hologram something(correct me if i'm wrong) then you can scratch that and enter it on their site to see if that battery is original..

I thought that iif you charge a non SE battery that you got a message saying "charging alien battery" instead of "optimised charging"... or have the counterfeiters got past that now?

i have a k510i with an aftermarket battery in it and it doesn't come up with charging alien battery when charging

aha. I've never bought a non original as I only buy extra batteries from known places and not from ebay, but this sounds like a feature that SE should have kept

I'm currently using what's probably a fake SE battery in my K800i, and it doesn't say 'charging alien battery', neither did my K510i with it's non-gen battery fitted.

I don't think that's a foolproof way of checking if a battery is fake, unfortunately checking for holograms, markings etc. I dont think is either as there are a lot of high quality 'genuine' looking fakes out there.

My W810 displayed "Charging Alien Battery". An original was in the phone, cleaned the contacts and it was sorted.

@masseur - NOT anymore mate . . . as I just got me a class-a (imitation) battery for my zirrocan gold T68 fone . . . it charges and performs like that of the original, I know that I can't find much of the original battery for a T68 at present . . . though the one that I bought has a legal-brand that manufactures QUALITY-batts (KingCom), a Taiwan-based company . . . Well, there have been may threads bout this, you can check if it charges in fractions or halves, many fractions is real, halves fake, also pics would help. and compare fonts and info to another batt.

I just got a battery i bought off ebay, it seems very original.

Fonts are the same (some differences, but that's probably because they're made a year from the one it's replacing), it has a serial number and a water damage sticker. The only thing i'd say is different is the size of the sticker and the fact that there are a hole on either side of the top part of the battery. It also charges like a normal SE battery.

Can it be that i really got an original battery for $2.99?

Think i'll compare with some of the newer batteries from SE at work tomorrow
