many people on here have used 2gb and 4gb cards in their k750, w800 and w810, with no problems. I haven't even noticed a battery drainage problem in my w810 with my 4gb card, still only have to charge every 3 days, unless i use Walkman a lot. Official SE and other websites said that these phones supported only up to 2GB, so we had this same discussion about 4GB when they came out. No issues. In theory, these phones should work with a Memory Stick Pro Duo up to 32GB, which isn't available but is the theoretical maximum for MS. That being said, I fully do NOT expect there to be any issues with an 8GB card and will buy one myself without hesitation in the future, as I'm sure many of the more experienced Esato-ans would do the same.

but like masseur said, you can bet that as soon as someone knows the answer firsthand, they will share it.

8.0 GB is ridiciously over priced...... I opted for a 4.0 GB today.
Works like a charm !!!!!!!! : )

Half a year ago since last post - do we have any update experience on this? Now 8gb is also quite price worthy compared with history. Please tell me, im in for getting a 8gb instead of changing phones, but i dont wanna waste the money if it doesnt work.

I also searched a lot if there was somebody using the W850i with an 8gb card, and nothing!! Finally I did it and it works!!!.

Well you have to keep in mind that the phone doesn't recognize that theres a 8 gb card inside, first when I put it inside and the mobile said that there was 4 gigas only I almost freaked out, but then took the card and connected it directly into the card reader of my computer and filled it with 7,3 gigas of music!! reinserted the card and perfect!! I have all that music inside and working!!

I just have one day using it, so not much experience yet, the phone froze a couple of times using the Walkman player, but that happened also when I first used the 4 gb card.

The 8 gb card that I'm using is a Sandisk M2 with the supplied adaptor, and one positive thing that I noticed with this 8gb card is that the phone starts faster!! yes!! that was nice because I was really pissed when i started to use the old 4 gb card and the phone was slower to start!!

Hope this helps, and if I have some problems in the near future, will post them, good luck.

Yeah i have used and do use my 8GB m2 card in my w850i when my w910i goes bye-bye. I found that it works fine, there is a fair bit of slowdown though, but the walkman picked up all 2000 songs. However this has only been for no more than 2 months at a time and i had no problems with it then.

Same as arnex i had the phone pick it up as a 4gb but it would still save photos onto space that didn't exist.
