Hi!
there is one thing I need to check out, before I too step into the BlackBerry World.
Japanese input! Oh no ! you all scream
Dam ofiaich, with his Japanese input again...
I know, through the help of people here, that Japanese can be displayed.
I am wondering about input. iPod Touch and iPhone Japanese input is easy! Really good fonts too !
With the hardware keyboard, if Japanese is somehow called up, through the menu -> settings... etc. then the vowels will show as
a あ i い u う e え o お
then key presses consonant plus vowel. would give this if we chose K + a vowel.
ka か ki き ku く ke け ko こ
A word such as 'sake' would be type sake → さけ and if the space bar is pressed then → 酒 can be seen.
Could anyone try this for me please?
Maybe head is spinning with my upgrade due shortly....
1. keep TyTn2, and buy iPod Touch 2gen, and c905.
2. Get BlackBerry Storm, because I like virtual keyboards and don't use the TyTn2 keyboard very much. Keep TyTn2 as a backup.
3. get HTC Touch HD because Japanese on Windows Mobile is easy, keep TyTn2 as a backup.
I do admit I like the look of the Storm !
Any help and screen shots appreciated ! I will look up BB help line number now and ring them !

I've had a Bold on "trial" for a while now, it's a nice handset. Nice screen and keyboard but it's slightly bulkier/heavier than the Curve. It's nicely put together, with a nice solid feel.
I also had a play with the Storm today and that's nice too. If you're in the market for a Bold I'd say that it's worth waiting a couple of weeks and taking a look at the Storm. |

Hi dainesefreak !
where did you have a play with the Storm? I heard it is Vodafone only, at least for now.

Hi all
The Storm is indeed a VodaFone in Europe lifetime exclusive and in the US Verizon lifetime exclusive. But there is apparently a Storm2 with even better specs already in the works and should be launched not to long after the Storm. It really looks like Rim and their Blackberry's are really going to move away from just Business users and hit mainstream by year end and grow as we go into 2009.

We have a large BlackBerry deployment at work and I'm evaluating a further rollout of devices, so I got to play with a few new and furture devices. You're right that the Storm is a Vodafone only exclusive.
RIM have actually said that they want part of the iPhone/general consumer market and they believe that the Storm will give them that. I've got to say that as an Omnia owner the screen on the Storm was, different, good but different and the UI seemed nice and fast. |

Sorry to hear that.
Reviews of the party in LA seem dreary so you might not missing on much...
