Hi Fatreg,

E90 is resting just now all duties are currently transferred to the Bold the screen is really awesome. As is the Music player and i really don't know where i got the idea that the BB was going to be complicated from as i have found it really easy to be honest. I have suffered a loss of 3G signal and am just downloading the latest firmware now from T-Mobile Germany about to delete the Vendor .xml and upgrade not bad for a first day with a new OS if i say so myself. Especially as i am pumped full of Fentanyl and OxyContin you can expect a review in a few days when i can do it justice.

The greatest thing from RIM is full support for the firmware and that BBDM on WinXP! Gotta love the simplicity; especially since Backup & Restore ALL is set by default for upgrading the firmware.

@Prom1

Well thanks for explaining why and how it happened as i couldn't work out how it happened and I'M running DM4.6 on Vista.

Maybe you can explain one thing for me though why does Outlook sync take so long? as it doesn't just compare both phone and Outlook versions but checks the whole of my Outlook database which is over 8,000 entries where as my 1 year of entries is only about 2,800 and it takes what seems like ages.

Marc Dude!

I have to ask what is the camera like? I used to have a curve and was sometimes impressed by the shots you could take with the fixed focus cam, but after recently going back to SE I realised what i was missing. Any chance of a sample shot or two?

Cheers

@Nanu

The signal was only really bad on the original Orange Firmware v4.6.0.92 platform 4.0.0.117 since i have been running v4.6.0.126 platform 4.0.0.135 it is much better and i haven't been stuck on SOS only and not been able to get back to 3G.

But then i have it set to 3G only and so far it has been much better, i may actually upgrade to a newer version which .134 as that is meant to be even better still. At least it seems Rim are well aware of the problem and are releasing a fast fix for it. As it seems there have already been two releases so i can't see it remaining a problem for long. Besides that congrats i really don't think you'll regret I'm absolutely loving it.

WOW thats a LOT of db entries (8K) vs your Contacts & Calendars. Curious of a few things that come to mind:

* Calendar - Most ppl in the corporate office have YEARS of Calendar entries - some so old and repeating reminders that are no longer valid from some 5yrs ago. This can take a lot of time to sync. Conflicting entries that are also duplicates will cause a BBDM crash in earlier versions. Organize your calendar to view by appointment and set it to view the OLDEST at the top - then SHIFT select teh oldest NON-needed listing to the newest NON-needed and do a mass delete. You should be able to limit this lengthy sync in BBDM in advanced options in Sync to sync just say 3mths (definable by you) in the past to all future or 6mths in the future. This may actually be easier.
* Journal - hoping you don't use it at all in Outlook. I don't recall it being able to sync with the BB anyway.
* Corporate Email - I think you run your own business if I recall correctly, and if you have an email address off of Exchange or Hosted-Exchange then its possible these emails also are synching if you've set the BBDM during install for Desktop Redirector. Most ppl don't use Redirector or BBDM in this fashion.

Thats all I can think of for the moment.

Hi Prom1

Thanks for your response and in answer to your points, i have set it up to sync back and forward 365 days which it does quite quickly. The point i am making is after this it then verifies all Outlook entries even though they are not being synced to my device and that's what i just don't understand, why is it doing this? But as i said it's not the end of the world just slightly annoying is all.

Nope don't use Journal and i only have Private E-Mails and that is all working perfectly without any problems and I'm not syncing it with Outlook either. No not using redirector what ever that may be.

One last thing that i have now given up on under Media there is Media Manager that works perfectly or i can just drag and drop things in Mass storage mode to my device.

Or there is Blackberry Media Sync that if i try and start it when my Bold is connected gives me an error and says i have to be in Admin mode. Which by the way i always am in as I'm the only user. So i close the program choose run as Administrator and then it won't connect with my Bold. So i actually can't sync with iTunes after all, i have given up on this one for now. As using Media Manager allowed me to copy my Albums from iTunes without changing them anyway. Although Album Art shows for some and not for others but i really don't care to much about that as i listen to my Music i don't watch it.
