Oh shoot! My mom just got a silver 8830 Curve to replace her aging 8700g and I thought she'd have the best BB available for some time. It's already outdated!
Unless its a typo ... the 8830 World Edition is NOT a Curve. its the BLACK or Silver SLATE unit with GSM (900/1800Mhz for Europe) & CDMA 1XEV for US.
Curve = 8300(GPRS/EDGE), 8310(GPS), 8320 (WiFi; NO GPS).
9000 is still a twinkle in RIMS eye at the moment.

Ooh! I have a question. After fiddling around with my mom's BB for some time, I was actually able to find a way to recieve files via BT hidden in the media menu instead of the BT menu. But now when I send songs from my K790 to her BB, it only gives me the option of storing the file in the ringtones folder instead of the music folder, so the music player doesn't recognize the tracks and the only way to play them is to go into the ringtones section and play them from there. How do I solve this?

Well, thanks for that rather unfriendly solution but I've already figured it out without having to disassemble the phone and buy a memory card reader...

you can also open the media player, find the song you want. options and use a phone tune...

Everything's fine! had a few teething problems but nothing I couldn't sort out! (not without BlackBerry support UK aka Fatreg and Tmag!)
Other than that I am just ironing out a few things with software and it'll all be tickety boo! really loving it though!
(dare I ask how the "other" one is doing!!)

Anybody heard anything on the new pearl? I'm very tempted by it but still not found anything concrete on release.
