hey guys, my k610i is always shutting down by itself whenever i leave it alone for a while. its incredibly annoying because i have to keep on turning it back on, plus i might miss some important calls (if any tongue.gif) unintentionally since it turned off by itself. i've been reading in random forums here and there and people are saying its the m2 memory stick thats causing it, others say to re-flash it. how can a m2 memory stick make such trouble? if i am forced to re-flash my phone as it might be my last resort, topsony suddenly began to become a "premium" service.. so i'll need a new fs other than europe 2 because thats the one i've got now - this pack is also a tad weird, sometimes it displays 6 languages, other times only 4. i don't really get it.. can anyone help please? thanks.

Try the phone with the memory stick out, see if the problem persists. I had K750i which had some water damage to the memory stick reader. When the mem stick was in, the phone wouldn't start up properly, it would hang at the logo but start up fine without one inserted. It wouldn't recognise the card when it was inserted whilst on.

Also try updating the firmware via SEUS, could well be a software problem of some sort.

its been a day now without the memory stick and its been working fine, hasn't shut down yet, but i still don't get what could be wrong with the memory stick since i haven't done anything damaging to it. i might try re-flashing it with a different firmware and see if it'll work with the memory stick in soon. where can i get main/firmware for k610i for free now? topsony seems to become a 'premium' member service recently.. by the way thanks for your suggestion.

edit; actually, even without the memory stick its still automatically turning itself off.. so its not the memory stick's fault at at all. i believe its the phone, i'm going to try and flash it when i find firmware for it.

@tohnee - So, did the UPGRADE of firmware solve the PROBLEM I have a small doubt if the battery is causing the switch-off here? [addsig]

whoa. sorry for the extremely late reply people, but the firmware is not the problem for the phone turning off. i found out later that the battery is loose and sometimes turns itself off (still haven't fixed it yet), so i just cut and folded a small piece of paper to put on top of the battery so theres less space for it to move about. it helps to a certain point but still turns off sometimes, just not as frequently and frustrating as before.

anyways, hope that helped.. even though i'm hella late to answer it now. i'm so due for a new phone now.. wanna get the graphite black z770i thats just been released.. looks like 100% sex
