I've heard there are fake hpm-70's about on ebay, I was looking to buy another set for my dad but how would i tell if there fake if there is a such thing?

Those definitely exist. I have one. I actually got it at a bakery! Of course it's easy to tell apart as you will see in these pictures.

the original hpm-70 come in the package as shown above, except the package is not green and white. The genuine package for hpm-70 is orange

Its the top one in the 2nd pic, if you look closely that one hasnt got the goldplated phono end. |

indeed, i bought one pair and the package was orange/white. the green/white packages are for the K serie.

isnt it a bit overpriced? mine[grey ones(standard?)] were around £15.00.
