At the beginning of the week, VF said they would be releasing the handset today (FRIDAY). WHilst on the phone to Retentions earlier, I asked if it was out. Their reply was that VF had done a U-turn and decided NOT to release it as it was too similar a spec to the K800i??
Instead - they've lowered the prices on the K800i and W850i. Smells like BS - we'll see what happens. |

i was hoping to upgrade to one on these on my main vodafone line (i work for voda). it was on our intranet as launching on the 4th may but something was fishy when it didn't appear in any of our new marketing/merchandising packs or the main catalogue this month. it's dissapeared forthcoming devices and is now under current devices but is a 'phones 4u exlusive', shock horror!
this pissed me off but i went into phones 4u today to see what was up. sure they can upgrade me and they had the phone but they have to stick you on a higher tariff for the upgrade and it has to be an 18 monther, although they did offer £65 cashback.
the upgrade quote that vodafone give you (based on tariff/spend and used to calculate handset prices on upgrades) is obviously not used by them. annoying cause i have a decent quote and can get any phone up to the w880 free in our own store. i'd assume its probably not even possible for them to do a 12 month upgrade. so if i can only get the phone from sleazeland then im gonna see what vodafone say and if they can change it down to 12 months afterward for my hassles. the customer in the know should still be able to get a 12 month upgrade if they want one, annoying! |

A test was published in French on my blog, Play-Mobile.be. I also tried to compare K810 & N73.
Test du SonyEricsson K810 face au Nokia N73. Translate into English using Google.

Hi all
Have to say I'm disappointed i wasn't aware that vodafone would not stocking k810i (until today when a rang them to discuss an upgrade)
So now I've decided to get a k800i, ok so it doesnt look as good as the new k810 but from what people are saying it's pretty much the same and it was a free upgrade.
Found this K810i review on cnet.co.uk (The K800i gets a better rating)

Just got of the phone to CPW. Got K810 free after being with them for 10 months and my line rental is £20 a month.(new 12 month contract)
Well impressed.  
This is my upgrade to my K800.
So i will post my findings. |

got the phone today on my voda upgrade (had to do it through phones4u to get the handset) and must say its a great unit. the look and feel of it is improved from the k800 and obviously the camera lens that stuck out a fair bit is now super streamlined and feels much better in the pocket. the phone has a pleasant chunky feel as opposed to the brick quality i thought the k800 had and the buttons/joystick are easy enough to use. the plastic finish on the back of the unit is very smooth the blue backlights are very cool indeed.
so, a subtle but very decent improvement over the k800 - if your looking for a phone with a decent camera i'd say this is the best on the market hands down. not to mention the phone doubles up as a genuinely usable walkman solution, being a SE and all. forget the n95 because the battery lasts about a day, the build quality/design of the unit is shoddy and software is slow - typical for any nokia handset that has good specs. |

the included wrist strap of a "Noble Blue" version ..... it's got the same
kind of feel as the phone's casing - sort of fuzzy like !!!
Another of my k810...the camera buttons illuminated !
They don't really show the true colour, which is a rather pleasant,
deep blue and the back of the phone has the "soft touch" feel
similar to Motorola's PEBL.
