Ok well I thought I got a great deal when I bought an ipod video from ebay. £110 bin but arrived 10 mins ago with the click wheel indented and a faulty headphone socket. I was just wondering how much it would cost to repair mainly the headphone socket before opening a dispute in ebay.

Thankz

hmmm..

there easy to get to bits but the headphone socket will be soldered to the PCB.

so not cheap to remove and reattach a new one unless your a dab hand with a soldering gun?

Lol, well iv sent the person that sold me the ipod a nice email anyway. Thanks for the quick replies, sounds too expensive. I have checked the serial number with apple and is still under warranty but I don't have the original receipt tho so I doubt they will fix it for me.

Well now they have just replied saying it was damaged in the post!

I paid £8 for delivery and I got it with £1.50 paid on the front of the jiffy bag. Not even recorded or special delivery.

keep the envelope and open a dispute with gaybay.

or paypal (if you paid with them)

if so, just say you never got it.

if they didnt get proof (ie recorded or spec) theres no proof to say you had it!!

*big wink!*

Too late left feedback stating I got it and also I have contacted them saying how poor the condition was so theres proof. I am going to open a dispute with paypal over it.

@mulder... u wouldnt need the reciept for a warranty fix... i had the same... did a trade wit someone on here for a faulty ipod nano which they couldnt fix but luckily for me it was within warranty so apple sent me a box to send it back to them in (u dotn pay either u jus fone dhl and organise a pick up!)

all done within a week and now a nice new ipod nano as they couldnt fix it so they replaced it with a new one!!! lol.

ye you dont need a reciept to use the warrenty on ipod site. aslong as you send them the ipod with the serial you said you were going to send then they will fix/replace it.
