K750 joystick problem |

Hi everyone..
I have a weird problem with my k750 joystick, when I enter the menu or the call list and press "down" with my joystick once, the highlight bar just keeps on going down as if I have my hand down on the joystick! And sometimes the joystick just doesn't work at all!
Anyone experience this b4 with their K750 or have any remedy for this b4 I take it down to the center?
Thanks |

How long have you had your K750i? Is it a CID49? Try cleaning it... Coz there are 3 reasons why your joystick doesn't function properly... One is DUST! Two is FIRMWARE! THREE is WORN OUT JOYSTICK! May i ask you if your K750i came with a rubber seal around your joystick? |

Thanks for replying..
I've had my K750 since august of 2005, I'm not sure what u mean by CID49 but I think u mean the newer versions. I don't have a rubber seal around my joystick and my firmware is R1BC002 which works perfectly fine for me. I will buy one of those compressed air spray cans and have a go at the joystick with it. This problem happened all of a sudden which makes me doubt that it could be a faulty joystick and more of a dust problem. |

Well there have been 10 months since I have my W800 and no joystick problems at all. I think the joystick is the same as the K750's one.

Have it replaced by a new one... It's a faulty joystick... Well, luckily i have the new release one so maybe the joystick is a little bit durable... It has a rubber seal around it... I hope it would last... Until i decide to get a new one... Mine is only 1 week old! =) |

I've had my K750 for just 5months now, and the up joystick is already acting up. I will try this cleaning trick. but can I use a carburator spray cleaner as I've used it severally for cleaning electronic contacts without problems before. |

My K750 joystick has packed up it only goes down if you pull on it numerous times. I've upgraded now to a W850i but I do want to sell it so may run through that cleaning tutorial to see if it fixes it.

You said when you went into the menu and pressed down once on your joystick, it kept scrolling down. The similar thing happened when I had my k700. When that happens, just press the joystick down and then leave. It should stop scrolling on its own
In howardforums, there is a guy called maxh2 who makes caps for the SE phones with joysticks and sells them on eBay
here's a link to the ebay listing

it improves the response of the joystick. FYI these things sell like hot cakes. |

I had problem with the K750i joystick too. I took it to the local phone shop.
they told me they worked on lots of K750i phones. Usually it is the contact underneath the joystick and not the joystick itself that is faulty. They replaced the contact under the joystick on my k750i and it has been working perfectly since.
did anyone know anything about this contact that is supposed to be under the joystick? I thought it would be the button when you press down on the joystick. but I have no idea. |
