why all the hype  only good thing to me is touch screen and ui....Though, even the touchscreen will be difficult for many to use, they may not get used to it....
The phone isnt really 5 yrs ahead when you think about, its not so advanced imho...And i dont even think its a nice designed phone, but again thats me...I wont buy it....
Ill buy Maria and Elena, m600i/w950i successor, 3.2mp, wif etc...Similar, if not same size of the w950/m600i today....And they should be available before iphone, well im hoping it is....

we all said the scroll whell was a nightmare when we first saw it and now look at us.. its brill!
as for the multi touch LCD.. good luck any other company getting it!!

without my imac and ipod my life would be empty...

I was eagerly awaiting Maria too, until I saw the iPhone UI. Now, it has to be much more than a W950 with camera and WiFi to get me excited. The market isn't the same anymore:). |

I'm really not sure on this one, I really want the iPhone but the fact that its touchscreen really puts me off!
My and touch screen phones just don't get on from the p800, p900, p910, w950 and now the treo 750v I just can never get to grips with them!
But I sure as hell really want one!

I haven't heard that SE are planning new UI, but they certainly need to, as theirs, Nokias etc. are really booooooring compared to OSX. I hope they'll do what it takes to beat it, cause I don't really want to cheat on SE. The good thing here is that the iPhone is due in Q4 and SE have plenty of time to strike back.
Steve Jobs exaggerated many of the iPhone features, but one thing was true, for me at least: "you'll never look at them (current phones from other brands) the same way".
I am a bit disappointed. I was hoping for SE to bring such a breakthrough device (regarding OS in this case, I don't say that iPhone is full of new features) to the market to beat Nokia, Motorola etc., but now they'll have to catch up instead of innovate.

fatreg have you used te iphone then?
May i ask how poor is the camera quality is. Also i heard someone say that the final version could have video recording. Will Apple really release this phone without capability to record video?

Speak for yourself, the 5-way(remember, SE??) Jog dial was just one of the reasons I bought my SONY Z5.........6 years ago..........and I remember my elation to hear it would be featured on the 'new' SE P800.....
Also, Iphone can't record video.......hmmm, reminds me of.........V3......

With no 3G, no third party applications and seemingly no ability to open Word documents I'd say the Iphone and P990 is going to be in different markets entirely. I can't see this working as a business phone, aside from lacking the features above it doesn't have a physical keyboard which is a large disadvantage against the Blackberries and HTC devices.

I was just wondering if I go to America is it possible for me to buy an unlocked version of the iphone? or if i get one from cingular will I be able to use it around the world, ( can i unlock it myself )??? I would like to use it in singapore...india, italy ec...
