I haven't used my w900 for a few days now. the battery died thursday and i've only just got around to putting it on charge. I've turned it on and i get the message on sceen "Configuration error, please contact you network provide or service centre". It's an unbranded Voda handset so the Service centre is out of the question, and i'm using an orange 2g sim in it so the network provider is out of the question too!

Does anyone have any idea on what i can do? I've never flashed a phone myself and i'm not sure i wanna try. Ad the software is upto date as far as i'm aware.... Is there any sort of resest i can do? I cant even access the menus tho!?

Hope someone can help?

Cheers

Mr. B.

Well there is solution for your problem. The configuration error appears to the phone when it's software is modified and then the phone is turned on without finalization. In you case, the battery ran out and the phone didn't turn off itself properly (something like the finalization) so it shows the configuration error. Even that error apears only when modifuing the software, it could be caused by not properly turning off the phone. So try a fitmware update via SEUS first. I think it should work as your phone software is not damaged or something, so it will be finalized after the update process and you can turn your phone on again . If not try flashing the phone (but I think you'll need a service cable to do that).

Hope this helps.

cheers buddy i'll try the SEUS but i don't think it'll work because the software is up to date...

A reflash may be the only answer... But i just dont know how! Bums!

This happens quite a lot with the W900i when the phone is off for a prolonged amount of time - a re-flash via Da Vinci Team of Wotanserver will sort it out, the latter of which should only cost about £4.50 for a login.

Website: http://www.wotanserver.com/

Help pages: http://www.wotanserver.com/in[....]4fae92d972a0e451b10538e983ce6f

The help pages on there have a step-by-step guide on how to flash your phone, including a few videos as well so you can't go wrong really. I would suggest regards of the fact you can't turn your phone on, plug the phone into the wall and leave it for a couple of hours before going on Wotanserver.

Oh and when flashing make sure 'finalization' is checked otherwise your phone won't turn on when you've finished.

A firmware reflash can be also done with Da Vinci FOR FREE if you are using Cruiser Service cable. The cable costs approx. 15$, but even it is more expensive than one Da Vinci credit, you pay only once, and then you can reflash your phone again, again, again, again, again, again and again
