Google have just released a new java application that allows you to view your Gmail Emails within a few clicks. Before you would have to fire up your mobile web browser and navigate slowly to view your Emails online.

Point your mobile browser to: http://gmail.com/app to download the application (US and Canada only at the moment).

Any idea when we can use gmail in the U.K?
This whole phenomena is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a government agenda.

I can quite happily access my gmails, and send new ones or reply, through the email client on my M600 and TyTN so I can't really see the point of installing an app to do it.

I suppose some older java capable phones would find it useful though

It is useful application, fast, reliable, can read pdf, doc, jpg, etc in mails, good management of all available folders, no download option in this version but soon will be I guess, recommended!

Downloaded it 30 minutes ago and it works on Vodacom in South Africa. Navigation is quite simple and they've managed to include the best feature of the web version- search.

I downloaded it, but I get a "certificate error".
Does someone know which certificate I need to add to my K750i in order for it to work?
Thanks.

The Gmail App works in most countries in the world - it's only that support for the app is US/Canada, but there's no reason it shouldn't work anywhere else. Using it on my P910 in South Africa, works fine. Note: You have to set your Gmail language (in settings) to English (US) for it to work. I had it set on UK English and it didn't.

Anyone know where I can find a few pics of the pdf, doc, etc viewers in action?

On a side note, does gmail allow you to delete emails these days? Are the spam filters good?

Anyone got this working on a K800i on O2? It installed ok, but when I run it I get the error 'Network Unavailable. This program requires a working data connection. Please check your signal strength'. All my other Java apps can access the internet with no problem. As with other apps, I select 'Yes' when asked 'Allow application to send to the internet?'. Some other users on the Google Groups support area seem to be having the same issue.

Hey guys. I've been trying to get an invite to GMail for a while now. Anyone have an invite to share with poor me? Thanks in advance.
