Memory Card Error |

My mate has bought a W810 but is having problems with the memory card.
If he turns his phone off with his memory card out of the phone, then turns his phone back on and re-inserts his memory card the phone wont recognise it.
He then has to re-insert the memory card and leave the phone off for an hour or two and then when it is turned back on the memory card is recognised again.
Ive tried this with mine and i dont have the same problem, any suggestions?

@j-j - Tell your friend to try FORMATTING the card in is fone. I don't quite believe that FAKE Sony/Sandisk cards would easily give-in when bought NEW . . . it will take some time (months) before it will go berserk . . . unlike the original one that will last at least - 3 to 5 years !

first try to format the card! it's cheaper then buying a new one! but if it doesn't work, i think a new card will do good! |

update:
ive just put the aparent dodgy memory card into my w800 and it seems to be working fine and have put my w800 card in the w810 but it still has the same error - is this is a firmware error?
and if so could it be fixed with being flashed with some new firmware or is it more terminal than that?
Edit: I have just found out that the cover has been changed on the phone so is it possible that something is either not making the connection it should or is touching something it shouldnt?
Edit2: Does anyone know where i can find a guide to taking the cover off so i can have a look?

I have a MSDP problem too...
I have a V800 locked to VodafoneNZ with a 512 Mb MSDP.
It has 140+ MP3 songs on it saved via USB cable.
My son has just bought an ex-O2 S700i secondhand with 32Mb MSDP.
The files on his memory card are visible on my V800, but my MSDP files don't show either on his Media Player nor File Manager > Sounds.
Anyone know why?
Are V800 and S700i that different? Or is it a network firmware issue?

@j-j
there's a disassembly guide over at se-nse:
http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=870
It's for k750 / w800 but the procedure is more or less the same.
As for a firmware issue? Possibly. Unless you can get your hands on another identical w810 (same firmware version, same branding if applicable) it'll be rather difficult to prove. Still, upgrading the firmware might be the last thing to try if it turns out that the problem is not to do with the electrical contacts. |

Cheers Cycovision
I just hope i can get to the memory card electrical/contact points with minimal dis-assembling.
The fact that my w800 memory card doesnt work in the w810 either leads me to beleive is is something hardware related rather than software/firmware.
Fingers crossed its not something terminal!!
Wish me luck and ill report back tommorrow with my findings.

I don't think if its a hw problem! try to update your phone with SEUS, after that do a master reset on the phone and if its done, format the card with that phone! I think it should work! |

We bought 3 memory cads from china, 2 gb each. however the one was faulty. Even the computer didnt recognise it in a memory card reader in order to format it.
I dont think i will buy another one though. As i have seen, SE have changed the memory stick on M600, and that p*ssed me off ! I knew microsoft change their products every here and then to get $$$, but i didnt expect such a thing from SE !!!
Anyway, sory mate but the only think that people kept telling me was to format the card on the pc, no other solution...
