well, the point is as I have upgraded my k750i the sound of mp3 was degreded. what can I do? I wish I could have my previous firmware, then how should I go there? Someone told me it should be corrected in FAR file manger. But I am not sure if my usb cable is the right one. However, I will be glad to have some info on how I can get rid of this mp3 problem through other means because using FAR file manager is a bit complicated stuff. thank

Hi wilson,

Why not try mp4/m4a and save some space too!

if you want an easy audio encoder there is dBpowerAMP (free)
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/

I choose 'Volume normalize' so I don't get any surprises while listening on earphones,

**************************************************
this is config file for dBpowerAMP and the mp4/m4a codec (install this)
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codecs/dBpowerAMP-codec-mp4.exe

this is the actual codec (needed!)
http://www.nero.com/nerodigital/eng/down-ndaudio.php
once downloaded unzip the nero file
browse to this folder and drop the Nero files in there and you're done!
C:Program FilesIllustratedBpowerAMPCompressionNero Digital Audio (AAC)

*******************************************************
You'll need to tick 'force LC AAC for non-HE players' for your handset!)
*******************************************************

(this is almost identical to another post I've made but thought it might be of some help for you)

Hi jack77777,

It really depends on how fast your computer is,
how big the original files you're going to convert are,

If you have a fairly new pc then 'double click' on the 'Use SSE2 Encoder.bat'

Found in this folder:
C:Program FilesIllustratedBpowerAMPCompressionNero Digital Audio (AAC)

From then on Nero will use the CPU's SSE2 instruction set encoder version and will encode a little quicker (should be about between 12-20 seconds faster for each track)

***********************************************************
For everyone else,

Experiment with different encoding settings

I use ABR 32Kbps but I'm using HEv2

*******************************************
for the K750 don't forget you need 'LC' encoding so tick
'Force LC AAC (for non-HE players)'
*******************************************

for LC encoding try 48Kbps to 64Kbps (there's no need to go higher than 96Kbps)

Oh! And never use CBR settings (see pic above)

KEY:
CBR= Constant Bitrate (your files will be bigger and not sound as good)

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
And last but not least:

If you think your encodings sound bad using WindowsMediaPlayer or QuickTime
try WinAMP and be amazed!!
http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php
(I recommend the full version and it's free)

if you're not keen on WinAMP there is also Foobar2000
http://www.foobar2000.org/
(this software is aimed more for expert users)

Wow m4a is very recommended! ABR 32 sounds like mp3 128 and ABR 64 like MP3 192+!!

But wouldnt it drain a K800's battery? Since it probably requires more power to decode...?

Hi mart89,

I hope you're using HEv2 for your K800i as 32Kbps sounds even better than 128Kbps then

No it won't drain your battery more than playing an mp3 or an LC m4a,

it needs slightly (but not much) more phone processor power (as in amount of effort) to decode but not battery power.
Hope this helps!

Dcuk
