Try flashing the phone - updating it's firmware. It can be done with SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service) which can be downloaded from the oficial SE website.

WSOD..I think you shouldn't have taken out the battery when it went white immediately..you should have waited until the phone rebooted and restored the system. The only way out I'm afraid is reflashing the phone. Wotanserver or SE. Or just send the phone back and ask for a replacement or free service.

  • Wotan maybe,
  • send it in to a service center will work
  • wait until there is a new fw upgrade available at SEUS (may take a while)

you can still have SEUS update your phone and reflash your firmware. It should ask if you want to continue anyways and click yes. It will update and should reload the firmware on. Other than that you should be able to take it back to O2 and ask for a replacement phone since it's only been two weeks.

Sorry, I may be giving you wrong information. haven't tried SEUS with my W850i yet, but it does this on my W800i. I let SEUS reflash it with the latest firmware only to find out SEUS is still one firmware behind.

About 3 weeks ago I was trying to play casino wheel on my K800i and it said operation failed.Later I switched the phone off and when I turn it back on it back on it got stuck on the SE logo.I took out the battery but when I switch it on the phone is now dead,a flashing LED in the infra red port is the only thing that happens. Can flashing the phone help?Never had any probs before.

Well, as far as I know the flashing red LED on the infrared port means your battery is very weak, give it a charge and see. Might work. Hope that helps.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
