@BobaFett
I'd only imagine that with the DVB-H phone that they'd have to increase the capacity and introduce a new battery, and maybe also a new type for the slim phones.

EDIT: Re-read your post.
The reason for the use of M2 is to cut down on the size of the memory stick slot so that space is used more efficiently. It was developed for mobiles. I doubt that SE would move 'backwards' and the only reason why the W850 used the old type was because it was in development for a while.
Just like why SD isn't used in Nokia phones, even large phones like the N93.

if SE r going to increas the capacity of the M2 more more than 4 GB it will be ok
coz most of the cumtomers needs 4GB memory and higher not only 1GB

I feel W300(and its Z series) was the first phone designed for M2...this was the phone on which M2 was tested.Thats why we saw the prototypes of this phone long before the real phones based on it were launched.All phones designed after W300 have M2.

looks like a remote control... happy to see joypad instead of the joy, even, the whole design looks cheap and crap. honestly, who would go for it? any of u?

I'd have to see it in reality. It looks more japanese than european.
There was a need for a more discreet looking w810, I had serious doubt wether I'd go for one because of the 'sturdy & cool' look of the w810. So maybe I would hae gone for it.
There's definately a place for this phone in the portfolio, though I'd have preferred a further evolution of the k750 look. Also I wonder why the new elements that were introduced with the k700 have never really been further explored. You can see similarities in models like the k510, but really, the choice of materials and the way the keypad was constructed has never been at the same level. Shame.
I wish the SE design crew would go on retreat and immerse themselves in the Ericsson design solutions; if you see a t39 it still is so beautiful and elegant, they should go back to that line - they only did with the K750 imho. |

@dela wise words what i mainly miss at se is the original thinking at design. k750, k800 almost the same design. d750, w800 same story. w810 is my favourite, imo the best design from se. but this one, i mean this new one, is really nothing special. i like the blue keypad light, it do fits silver fones ( k600, k610 ).

thanks bobafett, we're apparently both from the 'old school' :-)
why do you like the w810 that much?
the supposed k770 looks better in black on the pictures I just re-saw a few pages back in this thread |
