For the Japanese market, I think. Europeans aren't ready for these resolutions yet. But VGA will come for the European market next from

Rumours are floating around in the K850i thread of a TV version of the k850i which will have a DVB-H receiver embedded within it.

The question arises as to whether this will still be Cyber-shot branded or will it be just a TV phone in a K850i shell then Bravia branded for instance.

i am quite sure that it will be a Bravia branded phone, but the phone is 100% true
When Eldar says something it is almost true.

Yes I know Eldar is very reliable.

It just seems strange that SE doesn't seem to be creating a 'TV brand' on its mobiles the way it has with music and imaging, i.e Walkman and Cyber-shot.

It would be nice to see few TV phones thrown into the mix like the SO903iTV in Japan.

I guess prefer to incorporate 'TV brand' into another ones. We may see a Walkman or Cyber-shot phone with full DVB-H support in the future. Just see Nokia, they don't have specific brand for TV phones. So far we see some in the Nseries line-up. We may see Eseries with DVB-H feature, I guess.

But wait, both TV phone and gaming one need high resolution screen. What if intend to merge those two? Just guess so.
from my observations, sometimes it's better off not knowing.

Nokia doesn't have the 'brand heritage' that SE's parent company has and do does things differently.

The branding of Walkman and Cyber-shot has proved very successful for SE so I am unsure why they wouldn't repeat this formula for their mobile TV handsets: May be it will depend on the success of the Japanese Bravia phones.

Well Sony's earlier attempts at mobile tv were called 'WatchMan' (like Walkman), maybe that will make a reappearance.

First off Brand-'Heritage' doesn't exist in marketing. Its called brand-name recognition.

Nokia doesn't NEED to make a sub brand for their phone line. They already have the :

Vertu - high end stylish phones where $COST$ is no issue

E-Series business class focused smartphones with PUSH email sync from various vendors.

N-Series smartphones for EVERY Market.

Don't think for a moment if SE launches the Bravia line for the rest of the world outside of Japan, that Nokia will be behind.

Latest news is that European Union standardized on DVB-H which Nokia mostly pioneered & pushed to what it is today and where its going. Lets look at Nokia's mobile phone TV history shall we ....

Nokia 7700 distributed directly to cellular providers just over 3 years ago:
stream video at 320x240 res for Video. Nokia 7710 also having EDGE and same specs better shell using Symbian OS Running 7.1 with Series 90 (TOUCH SCREEN)! Look this up, and realize how powerful it was, although minimal apps, think what Nokia CAN do with symbian if they decide to go Touch screen. Most recently 9mths ago they released the Nokia N92 . Symbian 9.1 with S60 3rd edition with 900/1800Mhz GSM/EDGE & 2100UMTS along with a dedicated DVB-H receiver with 2 bands. Finally, less than 8mths after N77 candy-bar with built in DVB-H (no hub stick) with incredible shell twin stereo speakers, incredible resolution 3G. Great battery life - unheard of by Nokia.

So you still think Nokia is going to be behind in the DVB-H scheme of things?

SE better REALLY push DVB-H in a BIG way especially with the expensive non smartphone suggested retail prices they set. Believe me if the N77 had 850Mhz GSM band I'd have it RIGHT NOW even though DVB-H isn't standardized or even used in my country. Add WiFi I'd be SOLD!

however this Samsung SGH-i520 with S60 & WiFi or the i620 with MS Smartphone looks nice too - but I'm still a BlackBerry at heart and hear GOOD things with the P1i & BBConnect 4.
