i think i much prefer SE's new strategy of announcing new models once they are almost ready to be released to the market. it's a lot less frustrating than seeing the launch then having to wait half a year or more to get your hands on it.
the real challenge is keeping everything secret, though, and SE has actually been doing a good job of it! |

without them, whats the point of the show??who wants to see cebit??
Not many, I'm afraid. CEBIT is getting smaller and smaller every year. That's why the big companies are aiming more for 3GSM and such...

Then many people will end up buying an N95 as they are sick of waiting for Sofia...

Where did this 'press release' come from?

actualyy most of them won't buy becose of the price
N93 is expensive and not selling well as N73
N95 might sell more than N93 but won't reach N73 in sell's unit |

It is just you.
I know that SE will come up with some really god stuff, and it will come when the time is ready.
As the Danish says..."Worth Waiting for"

I might have got it wrong but I'm pretty sure the Cebit site lists SE having two stands and then not announce anything at all? Ok no Sofia but what about everything else. UIQ phones would be a good idea. And Sharilon, you info on Elena seems weird, you're saying it will be a cybershot without lens cover or flash doesn't really make sense.
I don't want a signature anymore. |

I thought we're done with the CeBIT-not-as-important-for-phone-makers discussion long ago. phone makers want to stay away from announcing stuff at CeBIT cuz the noise will be covered by mp3 players, headphones, digital cameras, camcorders, tv, home entertainment stuff, home appliances and a lot more
it is of their better interest to announce stuff before or after the show but not AT the show.
they might soft-launch the phones before the show and ready the protos to be played with at CeBIT (Nokia)
CeBIT is not a phone show. period. |

Can anyone confirm once and for all if Sony Ericsson has ever announced a new product at CeBit or during any other tech conference for that matter.

that would be tough eh, is the Sunday afternoon before the Monday 9am show counted as during (read: related to) the show? |

So can one assume there might be something announced tomorrow, Wednesday, or next Tuesday? |

No. Would that be wise? giving reporters/bloggers such short notice before showcasing a product at an event?

I have an impression that they've done that before
not only phone companies, but Nikon and Canon
What make you think every single site can post up the press release at the same time early in the morning?
also, there're things they do in those Sunday events that are off record, that is, you wouldn't know unless you're invited, and you have no proof even when you know because they make you sign some legal documents, confiscate your camera and all recording devices. and the best part, not all attendees will get to see the same thing... or anything
