Got a question regarding the K750, did a search and posted in the "K750i / W800i- Power User Tips & Tricks" thread as well, but couldn't find any relevant answers. My question is this, I've got a Nokia 3230 and I've managed to backup my contacts to my computer, in .vcf format. I'm wondering if it's possible to store all these .vcf files on a memory stick duo and actually access and save them on the K750 itself. Thanks in advance!

I just tried this by placing a contact in the other folder on my memory stick and it did not work.

However if you have a bt dongle on your pc then you can just select all of your contacts and send them to your phone and they will be installed into the phones phone book, I know that this way works as I have done it many times before

Thanks for the reply! I wasn't able to try it out as I do not have a K750 yet, will be getting one tomorrow as I think it's a brilliant phone, even though it's not such a new model now. If I were to send the .vcf files to the K750 through bluetooth, can I send them all at once and will I have to manually accept them on the K750 one at a time? Thanks!

You can send them all at once and as far as I remember you only need to accept once.

Now that you've got your contacts into your phone why not get your SyncML to work.

The power of SyncML is that it allows one to back up their contacts on the internet and even syncronise with other SyncML clients such as a home PC.

I use the SyncML to syncronise between my Linux (Debian) pc at home, my MS Outlook (Windows XP) at work and finally my trusty ol W800 phone.
They all syncronise through this site called scheduleworld.com (its free).
There are other SyncML servers out there but this is one that I got to work:

First get yourself a scheduleworld account
then in the preferences section go to "Standard SyncML Client Configuration" you'll see something like this:

Server URL: http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
Username: youruser
Password: yourpassword
Calendar URI: cal
Contacts URI: card
Tasks/Todos URI: task
Notes URI: note

You'll need to use this information to setup your SE SyncML client on the phone.

I describe the configuration for the SE W800/K750:
Settings
Connectivity
Syncronization
New Account : arbitary name for the account
Server Address : http://sync.scheduleworld.com/funambol/ds
Username : youruser
password : yourpassword
connection : choose your ISP profile (your WAP GPRS connection)
Remote initiation : Always Ask
Sync Interval : Off
Applications : Select 'Contacts' and 'Calendar'
(I only set up the Contacts and the Calendar, try these first)
Application settings:
Contacts
Database name : ./card
Calendar
Database name : ./cal

Save the settings. Try Start Syncronisation. Like that SyncML works for me.
You'll need to setup sync4j or other clients on your PC if you want to syncronise your PC.

good luck.

Great resource ( thanks ).

NB : for the K800 you need to add username and password (in the phone) for both the calendar and the contacts sync as well as for server / dbase login : once done it works very well.
