Hi folks hoping you can help.I have K750i with a faulty camera, the problem.

when I open the lens cover nothing happens,the phone is telling me to open the lens cover when it IS open?

wont work when I go to the menu,. telling me the same thing?

have done some research and have almost solved the problen,its got to do with the micro switch, the one that tells the camera to start working thats located on the back cover (once you've taken the back cover off?)

now the thing is I can not seem to find any parts out of place.?BUT if I take away the micro switch leaving the four termanals exposed and make a contact between two of them the camera works.basically the switch is f###.but the wierd thing is it seems like there must be a small part missing that flips the micro switch when you open the lens,not sure if this maybe fell out when i removed the battery.?

anyhow I could fix it so you can use the camera via the main menu.

or does any one now if replacing the cover will work i.e have all the moving parts that connect to the camera's switch.

hope that made a little sense and someone can help..would be nice to fix it prober

cheers hope you can help

There is a small extension on the switch that uses the sliding mechanism on the door. It's probably broken of. In my own case the entire switch is broken of. And when I tried to solder a wire to the 2 points mentioned that entire section got ... well.. destroyed.

Now the phon permanently displays "open lens cover" and I have no way to fix that in hardware anymore.

Is anyone able to hack the firmware (or patch) so that this detection is disabled and the cammera is always on as soon as you press the shutter button (no matter what state the cover is)?

I once had the same prob but with my w800.

It is most likely your flex ribbon id disconnected. They are very easy to repair. You could do it your self or send it to be connected which is very cheap

Best thing if checking the internal connectors are all in place and it's still not working is to get a replacement ribbon flex cable (which has the microswitch on it). I've fixed a few of those, can be tricky if you've no experience but fairly simple to do

You can get them off Ebay or cnn.cn quite cheaply.

@jon rice

If ur is switch broken try this patch : http://forums.se-nse.net/inde[....]c=19153&hl=ignore+closed+latch
Look for post # 5. This patch removes the message open lens cover. Try it
