Hi.. Does anyone know if there is a third party 65K TFT Screen for T68? Wouldn't it be good if we can just buy the screen and change our T68 to 65K TFT screen. I am hoping someone will come up with this spare parts.

Well, I hardly think that 65K TFT would work out well for such a small screen(101*80 pixels), And can't you just imagine what it would do to T68i's excellent battery time....

In all cases, replacing the screen will cost a lot of money.

.... Thinfilm (TFT) display actually uses less current than a stn one, wich is used in the 68... but it recuires som other hardware other than the display itselves. and the interlace circuit...
but i guess that even thus the size of the display it would do much better with a TfT or even better a OrganicLightDisplay wich is faster lower power consupt and non-pixel

I'm far from an expert on the subject, but if a TFT screen uses less current than STN how come TFT screens seems to consume way more power from the battery than a STN screen? Ex; T100's 4K TFT screen vs. S100's 65K STN.

No, he says a TFT would be better for the battery(from what I understand). And I wanna know why that is... Cause to me it just do not make sense.

course STN (Super Twisted Nuonic)Lcd
course STN (Super Twisted Nuonic)Lcdscreens are so-called 'passive matrix' displays. They use a row-and-column select method for each pixel (rather like multiplexing) and for this and other reasons they give a low contrast, dull image. Due to the fact that a whole row or column of pixels is addressed at once, these displays suffer from 'bleeding' or smearing of the displayed image. They also suffer from slow response times - movement is blurred. TFT stands for thin-film transistor, and in practice it means that transistors are actually deposited within the structure of the LCD. One transistor is associated with each individual pixel, and is effectively addressed individually by the driver circuit. Partly because the pixels are turned on and off by their own transistor, a TFT display is brighter, clearer and has a faster response time STN display. Just think some years back when u used TTL (Transistor logic) in digital equipment ! Eg: pc^s instead of c-mos like u use more now.... the powersupplyes vere HUGE!!

that has been discussed before, there is absolutely no way to get such as screen on the t68i, because it is not even about the screen but more about the capabilities of the processon in the t68, so unless you put a whole new phone into t68's casing you wont be able to enjoy the 65k depth...

Oki, thanks for clearing that up m8. I agree that TFT is way better than STN for sure, but my laptop and S100 uses STN I think the images and respons are OK. Only problem is when I tilt it. But I really thought TFT technology would effect the battery though... Well guess I was wrong there....

Thanks for all the expert information. I just love my T68 too much. To me it is the best phone so far in the market except for the screen. I don't see any other phone could come even near to T68 in terms of the features, technology and design which are packed into this tiny phone. Not to mention the flexibility in attaching camera, MP3 as well as radio on it. If only the screen is 65K TFT, it would be the perfect phone!! |
