@sap
Agreed. It's a matter of taste.

I'm buying myself a 4 gig nano second generation. I heard it comes with better stock earphones.

IMHO, Walkman Media Player interface is easy to navigate. It's a lot easier to go the settings (megabass, treble etc) in the walkman than in the Ipod. But overall, Ipod is a lot more user friendly. [addsig]

yeah they might fill their ipods up but u they listen to every song on it? let says u have a 30GB and a sony is around 5mb then u have like 6000 songs in it. what normal would listen to all 6000 songs. and let say if the person does listen to every song. probably half way through the listen the other half of the songs would be out or u wont like then anymore. so i dont see y ppl need such large storage.

If walkman phone supports multi languages file name, I will be so happy.
But now I'm thinking to sell w800i and buy another normal fon and iPod.

To bad... for me. I need Korean and Japanese font...for walkman..

We r actual avoiding to walk around with a lot of stuff. Hvn phone especially >k700i and related phones is much better. U select Ipod then u dont have phone or u select phone thn u hv a least both. The music quality is ok though there is a limitation of space

6000 songs=not having to change songs frequently.

@ Tupac1

You got a point there!
With a walkman phone you can carry and change batteries in a jiffy! And that is my point too! You have a phone, music, video and gaming mobility, also internet, flashlight and many other features on a cell. Maybe not the highest quality but things are getting there. For now, the SE walkman phones do an admirable job on all of the above. Not the highest quality, but don't forget that the digital revolution didn't happen that fast, we were using CRT monitors until recently and non flat panel TVs until the mid 90s. So now that we are getting 8GB memory cards within 6 months of the 4GB release, the realization of affordable storage is nearby(thus the release of all cheap and faceless(!) pods by Apple). The 16 and 32 and 64GB and...and...and who knows, are around the corner. The iPod will change quite a bit, but maybe too late, or will maintain a market for those who still like the way it looks and functions, or maybe it will stop being produced altogether since the iPod phone will take over. They are getting smarter at Apple or simply are borrowing the pioneered styles of, let's say, Sony Ericsson(?) and putting them in white shells, so we (humans) can notice them from far away : P Anyway, there will always be a market for all, but at this point who do you think is a smarter consumer?

http://developer.sonyericsson[....]s/phonegallery/w850/p_w850.jsp

found this site, sais the phone [w850] plays mp4 video format,

--> so can I watch 320x240 ipod movies on a w850? (for example newest lost episodes? )

'couse a 20min movie 120mb, a 40min movie about 230-240mb, it can just fly up to the 1gb-4gb memory card, so it seems it definetly does worth to buy a phone instead of an ipod -> its an mp3 player, a video player (wondering about quality), and a mobile phone, all in one... /hehe fingers crossed, the battery will hold on/

THX for answering this question, helps a lot!

That's not the point. The point is to have all of your songs with you, so you're not having to use a computer to replace the songs on your device. My iPod lets me carry my entire music library with me, so I have the largest possible choice in what I hear. No way my W810 can do that.

but will u listen to all the songs that's my point. by the time u listen to half of it the other half would be old already. then dont u have to go change the songs again? but with walkman u will have your favourite ones and the ones u want to listen in there. then change it when u get bored of it.

You dont get it. Why would anyone want to change them? Does anyone here likes to plugin their respected device after every week to change songs? Dont you think its better to have ALL the tracks you have and listen to the ones you want? Even if we dont listen to some of them, there's no harm in having them there. And we can have a seperate playlist for the most listened ones aswell.
