I have the latest firmware and then at some point I made a backup before instaling a 3rb party application and everything was just fine. Afte a week or something I decided to make a backup again of the device and at some point I get a message in the computer tha the backup stopped from the device. I click on the report and it says that there was a fault backing up a 3rd party application. Once again am trying to make a backup but without choosing to backup any 3rd party apps un-ticking the relative boxes in the backup option. Once again I get the same message but the report says that the fault was in the settings this time.

Any ideas whats going on here?

you can try 3 thing, one of them will surely work

1) in backup program change the location under tools. make an empty folder somewhere on your computer and make tha pc suite to put the backup in that folder

2) if you have any auto setting sms (sms your provider send for certain settings, like gprs or mms) delete it

3) if none of the above works (like in my case) delete all sent smses.

When I choose not to backup anything from the mestick relative to 3rd party apps and including any 3rd party apps from device I get the following error...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I finally did the backup by un-checking the "Unified Inbox". No errors etc.

But what "Unified Inbox" is anyway?

No way... I can not make a backup. I tried everything: uncheck third applications, uncheck memstick, unchek unified mailbox, delete configuration sms... all the possible combinations, and there is no way: not possible to make a backup.
I made a master reset, installed R07 FW again, syncronized with Outlook, installed some applications (Swiss Manager, Call Manager and Slovoed) tried again and ooops!!! perfect back up.
I was so happy that I invite some friends to a bier.
But..... one day later (today), impossible again!!!!!.
So, either not more invitations or making again master reset, new FW installation... etc.
Any suggestion????

As has been posted on other forums - and here as well , me thinks - you have to delete all your previous backups, then it will work again........

I did the same as some suggested. I unchecked the third party software+ unified inbox. The back up worked this time.

But this is already old skool here on Esato. The system had these probs starting with the P910i.
