We all know P910 has a low quality cam nobody is satisfied with the quality.
So after buying the P990 I decided that I will make P910's camera more useful
So I opened up my P910 and converted it's camera into a Infra Red night vision camera. Check how I made it at : http://www.hoagieshouse.com/IR/kamera/index.html
Do this at your own risk

Actually it's not very difficult , now I can make the whole convertion procedure in 5-6 minutes .........
It works well with a remote control, just point the remote control and you can see alot in total darkness . But for further distances get a Inova X5 IR flash light, can light up tp 10-15metres. (IR rays are invisible to eye, can only bee seen thru your P910's camera)

cooool idea, what would be nice but i don't know about cameras so it probably is a no go? a clip on lens cover that was an ir filter to make the camera 'normal' after the conversion so it could be used in both lights?? |

What you are saying is possible, for making a camera that works both Infra red and normal. You have to do the following :
Take out only the IR filter and do not montage the Film Negative.
If you want a IR cam, just apply the film Negative in front of the lens
If you want a normal camera , just apply th IR filter in front of the lens.
But note that IR filter and film negative doesn't work together, one of them must be off |

Well that's one way to ruin the trusty P9xx I just cannot bare to open and cut in my lovely P900 so I'll have to live with the old camera - and thats fine with me |

I have the W800, it is not the P990 I know, but If I had that phone, I would never do this or anything similar. It seems like an plastic surgery |

Well I have no idea on what other phones you can try this on. I guess I was the first ever guy to try this on a cell phone. But basically the logic is the same at all cameras, open up the camera's lens, remove the IR Filter then add the film negative. If you add the brown film negative your camera will only take IR night vision pictures., however if you just remove the IR filter and not add the film negatives, you can take almost normal pictures, and you can take IR pictures up to a certain point.
I dont have a computers or electronics degree I only have hands which I can control very smoothly. If you wanna try this on other phones and cameras just be smooth with your hands and make sure you take a picture of every part before you take it off. This guarantees that you will manage to put all parts into its correct place and you are not left with parts which seem tobe too much.
