@Whatleydude
Thanks for that mate, maybe I just needed to do a bit of investigation myself.
I have downloaded a few already - good stuff.

No worries Goldenface!
Glad to help!
Which ones have you got?!
It seems these guys aren't just UK based either!
http://www.mobizines.co.za
I want to read some South African Mobizines dammit!
(Sports Illustrated especially! )
@ Ares - I tried that Widsets thingy a while back - it's just a Mobile RSS reader right?

My only advice would be to email them!

Alright Goldenface - did you email them?
Any progress, etc?
I'd be interested to know if my 'super-quick' response was a one-off or if their customer care really is as good as it seemed...
Although - I must say - now I've broken away from the BBC 'closed group' this service seems almost too good to be true.. there's just SO much stuff!
Ares is right though - shame there's no RSS a'la Widsets.

I'll do it now, it would be a shame not to use this app.

I emailed and got a reply from Kevin. He told me I was still on the BBC format and that he'd change me over. However still no joy :-( . It looks like they are updating and it takes longer but a message appears saying Update Failed. I'll contact him again.

@Whatleydude.
I updated again and received a message telling me I was being moved over to another group.
However, only 5 out of the 13 Mobizines updated - these being T3, TotalFilm, OK Magazine, Time Out and ITV Mobile.
Do these all update or have some been abandoned? Is it normal for them all to update together?
How often should I expect new versions of the Mobizines to be downloaded?
I have emailed support, I will let you know how I got on.
From what I can see so far this is quite a good app.

I'm not sure about that - maybe they update at different times?
*shrug*
I'm getting myself a Nokia N73 at some point this week - I wonder if Mobizines is compatible...
Hmm..
*goes and checks*
Woah!
They've completely re-designed their front page!
Looks SO much better...
Dude - http://www.mobizines.com - check it out!
I'm gonna go have a play..
...although - I can't find the N73 on there - boo...
I feel another email coming on!
Catch ya laters...
...oh and good luck with the phone - hope you get it sorted.
I found City AM on it today...

I like the updated webpage. Looks a lot better.
I have downloaded the Application.
Then I downloaded 11 editions and used the 'update all' function. This indicated that it was updating all 27 when I actually only had 11 editions on my handset.
Then I got an 'update failure' message.
After trying to update them individually I found that only five would update.
So I deleted and reinstalled the Editions that wouldn't update. After that I refreshed each re-installed Edition and this worked.
Round-a-bout way of doing it but I got there in the end.
Cool application.

I'm just registering!
I wonder what the hell it is..
EDIT:
It *looks* like you can get RSS on there too now!
COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!
Hmm - Widsets or Mobizines, Mobizines or Widsets?!
AARGH!
MySpace, Flickr, Blogspot - you name it dudes!
This is so cool!

Have you tried SubliMobi RSS Reader (http://www.sublimobi.com) ? It works on my mobile and it's free. |
