just wondering
a few questions to former w800/k750 users
does the k800 have:
better reception? or still the same?
i know the calender has one improvement, but is that it?
also profiles are they timed or still manually have to be choosen?
heard that the video is worse than the w800 true or false? |

me.
from K750i > K800i
as for your question about the video, personally, i would say it is actually better then the k750i/w800i (same hardware)
But on the screen it doesnt look too good as, the k800is screen resolution is higher then the k750is.
Video recording on k800i is the same resolution then the k750i, but its more FPS |

I went from W800i to K800i and havent regretted it. The screen is a lot better for watching videos. The recording of video is aboth the same but looks worse as the screen is a lot better and shows more "noise". Recption is at least as good if not better on the K800i. From the W800i the main improvements are the screen. 3G and camera but does lack the decent headphones and doesnt come with a memory card.

I went 750-800.
Camera seems to take longer to "click", sound quality is "different" on MP3 (doesnt have the megabase, but does have surround sound).
Increase in phone memory is fantastic, but the memory chip change is a pain in the @r$e.
Seems as though the "processor" cant quite cope with the memory, whether it needs more phone memory free or what I dont know, but 750 wasnt as slow (may be the 4 cds I got MP3'd on it)
Did have problems with the lens cover (on both phones) accidentally sliding open, but found a hard plastic case on ebay works fantastic, and protects the screen.
On the whole, I loved 750 and love 800, but then the clincher for me was the joystick on 750 had broke and I liked the face warp on the 800. |

i went from a K750 >> K800
no regrets so far...
camera is awesome...
video recording is pretty much the same...
but... the screen on the K800 is amazing.
Music player is pretty good, no complaints here.
calendar is definitely good...
over the air updating is good too!
i love this phone.

I updated from aW800i. It's like change from driving a VW Golf GTI to a Mercedes or a Rolls-Royce.
Only the W800i had better headphones and a memorystick as extra accesoires.

Everything seems better about it, the screen, the OS, and of course the pictures!

Same here . . . K750 to K800 ! Just browsing the fone for about 3 hours now . . . made notice a LITTLE difference with that of the K750 though . . . but features wise, just like in the camera settings . . . some attractions were nicely added !

the screen is much better, and the photo's are much better as well
the phone looks and feels more serious and professional than the k750i..
but it is somewhat larger and bulkier. |

I upgraded my K750 to K800 a few days ago....
Here are my favorite changes so far:
1. Screen -> Larger, brighter, sharper... Much easier to view in direct sunlight due to some funky coating which lights up in all the colors of the rainbow from under the screen when exposed to direct sunlight.
2. Calendar -> Recurring appointments! Finally! About time!
3. File manager -> You can finally view files stored on the memory card and phone separately
4. Ability to browse internet in landscape mode
5. (my favorite) -> K800 actually supports Bluetooth stereo properly, so you can listen to your mp3s using your favorite Bluetooth stereo headset. Tested with Plantronics Pulsar 590. .... btw connecting my Pulsar to K800 was completely painless. I just paired them and .... it worked! I was very surprised since connecting my Pulsar 590 to PC proved to be a near impossible task.
6. and of course the whole 3g thing, making video phone calls at 5am Sunday morning sure is fun.
... and now to answer your questions:
- reception -> Lying here side by side, K750 is showing better signal, but the k800 is connected to 3G. When I turn 3G off, the reception is pretty much identical.
- video quality -> sucks as bad as K750 but appears worse
- profiles -> no visible changes
