msmobiles have an article about 2 new i-mates. The one that interests me is this SPL which looks to have SLVR styling but with WM5!
also, modaco have a short article about the JasJar replacement which is said to include HSDPA and will, perhaps, be a little slimmer but still with VGA resolution screen

I must say that SPL is very attractive indeed, is a shame it shares its name with the Scottish Premier League

Now this is a nice looking smartphone. Too bad moto keeps on upgrading the razr line and forgets the slvr.
But still imate is going mad. The JAQ is horrible and are they totaly dumping HTC? If so, will HTC come in as a competitor to imate in regions where imate is currently available?

yeah, htc normally just sell the licences for these products to others such as i-mate and network operators. however, they have stated that they will be launching the new handsets under their own brand name, hence the fact that they have just changed their logo...again!

no they dont...
HTC actually make all the handsets and just rebrands them to imate/qtek/orange/o2/dopod etc...

actually I've read in many sources that the latest i-mate products are not made by HTC (except the jasjam) though I have not seen a specific manufacturers name for those but I have seen mention of a no-name company that no one has heard of
