hey,can someone tell me how to preset my equalizer on my k500i cose usualy I put all bars to the max but I do lose some quality by that so can someone tell me how to set it to have the best...?I don't have "Mega Bass" though on my phone....

putting all the bars at full will definately generate sound quality degrade. UYou should try doing it some high and others medium, or low. Do this when listening a song so you get the idea how the equalizer afects it and at wich point you get better sound. cheers

to achieve an effect similar to MegaBass, set the bars to something like this:
100%, 75%, 50%, 60%,70%

have fun! I had MegaBass on my Z800 and it distorted some tracks really badly (even if listened to at low volume). With the settings above bass was almost as good, but no distortions any more.

I listen to Death metal music, and the megabass option is the best choice.

I listen to dance music (usually House and Trance) and when I first got my W810i I was trying the various equalizer settings with the buds that came with the phone. Not a surprise, but those buds are crap! Even with MegaBass, the sound was weak and thump was really lacking to me.

I then plugged in my Sennheiser earbuds and nearly imploded my eardrums, as I had left the EQ on the MegaBass setting. The difference in bass output was astounding (but not surprising since the earphones that ship with most products tend to be poor quality).

I now use the Bass EQ setting with my Sennheiser buds and my tunes sound great. (Well, except for the hiss, of course. I'm still holding out hope that SE will fix this in a future firmware update).

i now didnt use megabass anymore as the treble are low but here is my suggestion :
100%, 50%, 50%, 75%, 100% (numbers of bars are 16*)
16, 8, 8, 12, 16

very good compared to megabass, cuz though the bass arent solid but the treble are sharper. that equalizer are set for hpm70. for hi-fi, megabass is still the best...

Can't imagine why so many ppl have their setting on megabass? I renember when using my HPM-70's with my K750 mega bass had WAY too much bass, the music just didnt sound nice.

me too, i was only using megabass for the first few months, when after that i realize my personal eq (100,50,50,75,100 %) are better.

for some people who want to try, check that out... bass are 90% from megabass but treble are 150% better.

btw for those using k700, k800, k610 would not have megabass option and the best eq beside `mine` is suppose to be bass.

@mart89

that's exactly what I say - for me MegaBass distorts the music too much. But maybe that's because I'm one of those guys still having some vinyl LP's (most of my collection is CDs of course...)

Me too. Just got my first serious headphone yesterday, a cheap but excellent sennheiser px 100 (USD 40). I immediately switched the eq from mega bass to normal/bass, as the sound with mega bass becomes unnaturally boomy and distorted with px 100. Mega bass sounds good for the standard and cheap earpieces, but becomes way too much when coupled with good headphone. The sound quality of px 100 just blew me away as I've never had a nice headphone before, and now I wonder how the other value legendary headphones like grado sr60 or koss portapro sounds like. Got to have them too someday
