i saw lately many threads here, where members ask if its worth to go for k610i or not, for those and others here are some sample pix i made with k610i, knowing that the pic qulity is an important thing now a days. personally i dont take care of cam pix, so i didnt used any special setings, dont even know how to get the best out of a cam. anyway, hope it helps for some of u:
( ps: thats the result of no autofocus and no flash in a 3g fone in 2006... )
imo its very poor quality...

You're right, lower quality compared to those on my old K750. Anyway, this would shed light on the K610 picture quality I'm considering when buying the Phone. Thanks.

not so bad. k750i takes more decent pictures though but i'm still thinking it over if i'm gonna buy a k610 soon. i'm also considering the Moto RAZR V3x in my purchase decision.

OK. The quality might be poorer than that of other SE's 2 MP with AF.
But, still, I wonder how is it compare to other brand's 2 MP without AF and Macro? There are many Nokias without AF out there I guess...

No it isn't - it's a mid-range 3G phone. Not a dedicated camera or cypershot phone...

Thats right, but a 2mp cam without autofocus, no flash, seems for me pointless. I mean, its like se would offer 50% of a technology. Wouldnt it be easier to put 1.3mp cam with flash in it, like k600?

Well - that's marketing: 2MP sounds better than 1.3. And most users don't know or care about AF and flash. They will notice, when they have bought it ... Most users just have the cam in the phone for "fun-pics". There 2MP and no AF are enough. I wanted to have a light and slim phone. That's not possible with AF and flash right now. In good light-conditions the pics taken by the K610 are more than good enough for me. And hopefully this applies for the target group of this phone, too.
If you want to have a really good camery-phone: buy the K800 or wait for one year, then we get 3MP including AF in a small phone like the K610. |

To tell you the truth, I don't understand why people think that every phone that is released has to be the best one ever. This phone is placed firmly low-mid end. Its a low cost, high value handset. Have you seen the feature set and deals available?

I dont take care of the cam quality, what i dont get, is the principal. Se wanted to put some advantages in k610 after k600, but imo just to reduce costs they choose the wrong way. Indeed, its a cheap fone, so more costumers would go for it, but i got used to quality, on every level.

Second that.

The K610 has quite some advantages over the K600. There are:
- Expandable memory
- Better browser
- RSS Feeds
- Blogging
- Faster UI
- Better Cam
- Smaller
- Lighter
- Lower price (initial price that is)
I like the K610 design better than the K600 but that's a matter of personal taste. And I'm fine with the quality - it doesn't creak etc (as my Z800 did).
Of course I would prefer a K800 in the same form-factor and weight than the K610 and I would pay the price. But if that would have been possible, SE had done it already. |

And why no flash? U have to agree, its really weird, cos for a umts fone visual features are basic. How to show anything in the dark for the caller?

I wouldn't say the camera quality is that bad. I mean, obviously the K750 will be better. It was the class leader (and still could be debatably) but the K610 still produces decent 2 megapixel photos for the average consumer. And that's what it's marketed for, the mass market.
