What do you guys think to the quality of the mp3 player on the K800i
I think it seems to lack a lot of bass quality. Ive just compared it to my SonyWalkman and the quality is no where as good?

What do you think of the phone quality of your walkman? How is the reception? Is it 3G or just EDGE? You are comparing apples and oranges. The k800i is not a Walkman phone, however it is a phone that happens to play media files, and it does it pretty well. Making and receiving phone calls is what it does best.

Sorry but I'm sure you are wrong. Many listeners (including myself) have reported the W800/K750 audio to be as good as the ipod and decent mp3 players, so I hardly think it's going to be any worse than the P910 (probably better). There is a small issue with volume (not quality) on the K800. There is no megabase, and that is no disadvantage IMHO. You can play with the equaliser if you want more base, which will also boost the volume (for those that aren't happy unless their ears are hurting).
On the K750 and W800 R1BC or later audio level is good, and I suspect also the W900. Also, there is no quality difference between Walkman and Non-walkman phones per se. For example the K750 and W800 run identical hardware and have identical audio quality.
What the non-walkman phones miss out on is not audio quality, but the lack of the fancy media player features that are available on the walkman models (example better playlist management). Audio quality itself is just as good from one SE phone to the next (current models).

It would appear that SE, Nokia, and the other "al'-in-one" phone manufacturers may have shot themselves in the foot by creating these devices. The more they try to add feature the more complaints arise about their phones not doing this or that or not doing something better than this or that. It is quite easy to believe the marketing hype and forget that first and foremost these are phones. I hardly see anyone commenting about the telephony characteristics of their phones, which is the core function but there are hundreds of posts about media players, camera's, etc... which are secondary features to aid in the selling of the phones.

Well, you could also say that the companies themselves might be purposely putting 'glitches/bugs' into their phones so that they can come out with a 'revised' edition of the phone and sell it to the market and make it just as successful. |

Can you provide an example of this. I would find it highly suspect that a company would purposely sabotage their product with the hopes that people will not notice and then run out to purchase another "updated" version. Not smart biz sense.
