k790 help! phone hanging? |

I'm using a Sony Ericsson k790 which I bought in India, and the phone restarts or hangs once in a while. Haven't experienced it too many times, but I think it happens only when I open more then one application at a time.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Or where I can get the new firmware upgrade?
My current firmware version is R1CC003

I was also wondering whether anyone has or knows where I can download Skype for my k790?

what kind of applications are you running at the same time? im in the impression that you can only run single Java application at a given time.

The first time I tried opening a Java application while in a call, worked fine. The second time I tried with a different application, and the phone restarted.
Also had the media player minimized, and tried opening something else, and the phone restarted.
The "Upgrade Software" option on the phone says I have the latest software.
So I was wondering whether there is anything that I can do to fix this?

I just tried to run 6 java apps (games) at the same time on my K800i and it worked fine. I didn't try any more but I'm sure there is a limit.
b3rx: Why do you think that? As you see above that is not the case. Should be the same on the K790.

Ok well I'm not sure its the java apps, because it happens even when I have the media player running, while using the camera.
Is there anyway of fixing the restarting?

As always when things like this happen, your best bet is to take it back and get a replacement.
Other than reflashing the phone (which I don't recommend unless you know what you are doing) you can't really do anything.
As its possible the problem is a hardware fault, getting a replacement is the bedt course of action. |

Thanks a lot. But apparently quite a few k790 users do face the same problem, so I dont think exchanging mine for a new one will really help.

Yeh that is a common hardare problem in the some of the newer k-series phones. Take it back and don't waste anytime as some end up completly dead. |
