Can somebody summarize the differences b/w old TomTom and new TomTom software please? I have reading about the new version, but I can't find any info about new features other than memory improvements.
Also, can you somebody send a link to get updated maps for USA ?

pocket gps world have the speed cam updates.

the latest map is 6.75 (i think)
yeah you can dl it from tomtom.com if you have your activation code.

Thank you for your file sharing on rapid share~
I always browse to there to check if there is any update.
However, I just found out the TomTom maps version 6.75 folder has gone...
I was gona download the UK map from it....
Just wonder did u remove it or it was a case of removed by the admin or someone else....
Hope to see it again as i need it real soon....

Hi Guys,
I have the navigtor 6 and maps of westen europe DVD, i have installed all the files on to my 1 gig memory card and instered it in to the phone it then asked to install it, when i press the install icon on the handset it does nothing, there is no TOMTOM icon on the phone, all the files are on the card but i cant get it to install on to the handset any ideas?

Are you sure the Icon isn't tucked away under tools?

I'm running Tom Tom on a P990. When I try to select a contact for departure/destination point, the app locks up completely. Does anybody else find this? |

Question for any knowledgeable tom tom guru to help or anyone just HELP! please? I live in so cal and want/need a tom tom but dont want to have to carry an extra device around by purchasing one of the ones at the local retailers. Has anyone purchased the tom tom 6 with the gps receiver and is it compatible with the p990 or did u go with another gps receiver and purchased the software alone? forgive my ignorance if this has been asked.

I bought a separate GPS unit - one from Navicore. The unit is quite plasticky and cheap looking, but it works very well with my P990.... |

When selecting a contact as a destination I noticed the app seemed to lock up.
It turns out the contact searching is just very slow. It took roughly 8 seconds after each letter typed before the contact search came back with results (and you could then type the next letter!).
I've only got 105 contacts so there's no reason for it to be so slow. |

Yes - I discovered this this morning! Thanks for the reply.... For me it takes MUCH longer than 8 secs per character. In fact it takes several minutes! But then, I do have over 900 contacts.....
Best to avoid this feature I guess, though it would be very useful.... |

Hi everyone,
my first post here, I don't know if it has already been discussed, but I couldn't find the answer using the search functionality so here goes:
In TomTom 6, how can I change the keyboard layout from the default ABCD... to QWERTY!? In TT5 on my PPC, it is easily done through the settings menu, but this specific setting seems to be missing in TT6 on my M600i? (I'm running the version uploaded by fatreg, many thanks fatreg!!!)

appie, their is no setting, however you could just use the keyboard on the phone
