Hi SL33PYH34D
Thanks for regenerating this thread on here.
TomTom are notoriously uncommunicative, but I think the real problem is the operating system. There is no doubt that the company has Navigator 6 working on SE phones, but they are probably not happy with the final product and want to keep it in Beta.
I am waiting for a 990 (in the meantime I am a happy 910 user) but am increasingly worried by tales of the fone struggling with memory resource and continual rebooting.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if those at TomTom base aren't having their machines frequently rebooting under the load of the software.
In fact, overall I am loathe to upgrade at the moment as it sounds like an inferior product to my trusty 910.

@Laurie...inferior it is not...neither however, is it perfect.
I'm HOPING that the memory resource thing will be rectified in future fw. But in the meantime, just gotta reboot every so often. PUWHAHAHAHA =)~

The UIQ3 version is included on the tomtom 6 DVD.

As a newbie to the whole 'sat-nav' thing what software/hardware do I need on/paired with my P990 to get going?
Also, nothing formally noted on tomtom.com about compatability with P990 so has anyone had high degree of success (albeit early days) in UK to justify the spend? |

Can anyone with TomTom6 running on P990/M600 tell me how much space the UK maps take up - I need to know what memory card to buy. Unfortunately, the PocketGPSWorld forum is rather over-moderated, and the thread was closed before I could ask...

The package i purchased which is GB+western Europe takes up about 220 meg, i think that along with the whole of europe are the only packages with uk you can buy atm. |
