What does "Clean up keys" in K800 File Manager mean? |

I am currently working on a K800 review and do not understand what the "Clean up keys" menu does.
You will find it here:
File manager -> More -> Memory Status -> Select Phone -> Select a folder -> More -> Clean up keys
This menu reveals four sub menus:
Keys without content
Keys owned by other
Content not used
Key memory info
Help menu for "Keys without content": Keys without content not used for days, weeks or months.
Selecting the "Keys without content" let you select 3 months, 1 month, 3 weeks, 1 week, 3 days, 1 day.
Running a Key cleanup can last for up to 30 seconds and the end message is "Activation keys 100%". The "Clean up keys" help text say that this procedure do not affect content memory.
Anyone want to elaborate on this?

Could be something to do with copyright held files, like DRM music, etc. At least thats what In had in the N80, had a similar menu...
The keys are required to actually use a file, so for example if the file isn't present, then a music file may not play.
Although I could be wrong...
Cheers

I found it as you did. No idea...
Since it also contemplates SIM codes it might be for operators to identify SIM and/or phone or, rather, for secure connection purposes?
That is just a guess though.
Good luck with your review

and this is what i found in the manual and i wrote here
"Activation keys for
copyright-protected files
Copyright protections may prevent some images, music
(including ringing tones), and other content from being
copied, modified, transferred or forwarded.
To view the digital rights activation keys stored in your
device, press , and select Tools > Actv. keys and from
the following:
Valid keys—View keys that are connected to one or more
media files and keys whose validity period has not started
yet.
Invalid keys—View keys that are not valid; the time period
for using the media file is exceeded or there is a protected
media file in the device but no connected activation key.
Not in use—View keys that have no media files connected
to them in the device.
To buy more usage time or extend the usage period for a
media file, select an invalid activation key and Options >
Activate content. Activation keys cannot be updated if
Web service message reception is disabled. See ‘Web
service messages’, p. 47.
To view detailed information, such as the validity status
and ability to send the file, scroll to an activation key, and
press.."
So definately something regarding copyright
@laffen hope it helps
