My K800 is suddenly dead for no reason. It worked when i changed to my new K610i, but when i tried to switch it on again an hour later it was dead. wont't turn on, won't charge. the diode blinks when i connect a charger, data cable or try to turn it on. this is the only life sign.

Any advice or similar problems?

right - erm...i had a blinkin' led problem with a t65 :S - not sure whether its atall the same - i know its not but!

right - as the t65 has a battery inside i opened it up and disconnected everything - e.g. no power to the board - so try taking the battery out, leaving it for a day and then power up again...probably won't work and it will need a reflash/change of phone by Sony Ericsson but - its worth the try, rather than all the hassle...and btw im not overly impressed from what everyones said about the k800i now...

@bobafett
i was gonna try flashing it with wotanserver but the only reaction i got when plugging in the cable was a blinking lead

@sonyericssonman
The Phone was in use for about two weeks and the battery was allmost full when i switched it off.
What sucks is that if this had happened a couple of days earlier i could have gotten a new phone by DOA (if we go by the date on the reciept). now i'll have to wait 3-4 weeks for it to get fixed

Not completey on topic but my k750i has done the same thing to me a few times. Works fine, switch it off, try to switch it on and it just doesn't respond - not even when powered from the mains. Give it a few hours and it starts to work again.
Mine did it when I went on holiday. Worked in England, turned it for flight to amsterdam, on to say i was halfway, off for flight to sweden. Tried to call my mate to say I'd arrived and... nope... had to use a payphone of all things
Have a look at some of the photo's on my site, they can be quite good (no adult content!)

Here's another dead K800i. White Screen of Death while updating RSS feeds. Took back to CPW for repair, who informed me that they are not able to take in this model for repair as yet, as their log-in system for repairs is not yet set up to accept the SE K800!!!!!!

And so, I'm stuck with a dead phone until CPW takes their repair thumbs out their *@+~s!!

Umm get them to replace it with a new one??? would be a start. Dont let them fob you off, get it replaced or demand a refund.

My K790i bought on 31st July died after 2 days. Its that "white screen of death thing". I returned it and have not accepted the free replacement. Frankly, IMO, this kind of problem/defect is unacceptable.

I suspect you've already tried this, but just in case you haven't, try removing the battery for a few minutes, re-inserting it and try powering it on, see if that makes any difference. It's worked for me a few times!
