thanks masseur

I've cryed for this ever since my first K750, and noticed the problem with gamma (contrast) compared to my K700

This hack really improves the overall visual experience of the screen, and themes, pictures, videos, games now looks like it should

I cant make an accurate screenshot comparison, because the change are propably to subtle to show in a normal photograph of the screen, and I cant control the photographing good enough to be 100% the same both times i take a picture.

And this doesnt work for all K750/W800, cause not all tft panels are the same, so not all have this gamma issue.

Those that do have the gamma issue, and are graphically minded, experience a wrong whitelevel, making colors wrong (to bright) compared to photoshop when making themes, with whiteburns and to bright blacklevels. This also causes compression artefakts in black areas of videos to be shown more clearly, and bright areas to wash out in general.

Therefore if your screen is allready correct gammalevel, this driver is not needed and you may instead experience the screenpixels to show more clearly (by some called increased graininess), but if you do have one of the K750's with wrong gammalevel you will see improvement with this driver immediately. If you have ever compared one with correct gammalevel to one with wrong gammalevel you will know the difference.

If you have doubts, try it and see which you prefer, it wont do any harm to your phone, and you can allways switch back to the default one (allways remember to back up your default driver)

Ok the driver definitely gives more contrast which is good. However.. maybe it's only me, but I find images have blurred quite a bit. Maybe you can check up on that.

i think this display driver works great on PNG files.. but JPEG? hmm i think it has sumthin to do with jpeg compression.. it cannot show some color gradience created by JPEG... OR

since it has higher contrast.. it reveals JPEG flaws which the older display driver cant... wotcha think?

Absolutely correct, enhanced contrast/gammalevel, simply reveils errors more clearly.

Those with wrong contrast/gammalevel, hides some flaws and errors in pitures better by washing out details.

Some like the better contrast/gammalevel with better colors and better whitebalance and thus also in some areas sharper look, while others prefer the more washed out image.

Nothing wrong with either, so basically its just up to each and everyone which look they prefer, also taking into account that all panels dont look the same, some benefits more from one driver while others less.

Imagine watching the television, if brightness is turned up to high, and contrast to low, dark areas gets more grey, and light areas burns out. This washes out the picture so some detail gets lost and colors get a litle faded. Correcting the brightness/contrast setting will make the colors better, the black areas black, and generally also make it look sharper, but it will also much more clearly show any errors in the signal.

thats why W810 is advantageous in this area.. coz it has AI to adjust the screens brightness based on the environment... kewl isnt it.. my JVC Musee TV has this AI too.

and as for the themes to appear more clearer... i always use PNG files this time... tho its kinda abit tasky editing the files and changing them to PNG.. its worth the hassle.. as long as i have a good screen...

ciao ciao!
