So does this format remove everything from the internal memory? I'm curious about unrecognised file types in particular. So let's say there's a file that the phone does not support and does not recognise. Would it show up in the file manager and would it still be erased by formatting even if it doesn't show up? Thanks. |

I am trying to format the phone's memory as I will sell it and I don't want any to the files on there before to be recoverable. And if possible run a program on there that will completely make the date irrecoverable, kinda what you can do on a computer hard drive. If I was to format I guess I would need to restore the firmware? |

You can't easily access the memory in such a way as to run file wiping software (to remove all traces of your files). However it's just as hard as that to run file recovery software as well. You'd need to be a software engineer with access to the right hardware to do either.

You need to perform a master reset.
warning: everything in your phone will be gone. uncluding contacts and sms.
What I do is, back up my phone data using MyPhoneExplorer and then perform a master reset and restore again using MyPhoneExplorer. |

a master reset will still leave traces that can be restored in a lab.
