Hi guys,
Just wanna say thanks to machanic, for the quick response, but I've got a problem anyone can help with.
I'm updating my K800 on SEUS, once it gets to the point where it recognises your phone, it asks me if I want to update, then it downloads the new firmware, but when installing, the progress bar shoots straight to 98% and the software restarts, leaving my phone not updated. Any ideas on this one?

Hi, you r writing about updating to R1JG firmware. But my phone (R1GB) can't be updated via SEUS or FOTA both are writing "you have already the latest firmware" I didn't update it before. I bought absolutely new phone without any sim lock. cid is 51 unfortunately. I'm quite satisfied with firmware I have, but It makes me crazy that I can't update it like other people. I read on russian forums that people also updating their firmware to R1JG via FOTA (via SEUS the latest is R1GB). I have t-mobile D (I'm in Germany now), but I don't think that it's really matters. I don't want to try Davinci or Wotan. Maybe some one knows what's the problem? |

it could be problems with your PC, and not the phone itself? try reinstalling the latest version of SEUS and try again? not too sure though, i'm sure i read about that somewhere in THIS thread.
and for t-mobile, maybe the latest firmware IS R1GB? if i'm not mistaken, different operators have different requirements for firmware upgrades. when we're talking about R1JG via SEUS, i believe it's for generic versions of the k800 and not operator branded ones.
hope that helps you guys.. |

I tried to reinstall SEUS couple times but it didn't help. I'll try to do it on another computer, maybe it will help. My phone is not branded (i can use it with simcard of any operator) so it doesn't depend on operator. But thanx anyway, I'll try to search trough all 237 pages I bought wotan account, cuz I need russian language and don't need cid 52, so probably it's the best variant...
I tried another computer - the same story. Internet connection is quite good (100 MBit/s). Wotan, I'm going to you...

good luck with that, mate. the thread itself is 'quite' long, so have fun reading . maybe it is your computer, or maybe your internet connection... |

Ok, so I updated my firmware via wotan to R1JC002 cid 51, and then, phone has found update via FOTA (596kb). The version of firmware is R1JG001 cid 52.

I reinstalled SEUS, but it did exactly the same thing... I really can't be bothered to pay for Wotan when SE has the update, it's just their crappy software letting me down!
Cheers
PS My K800 is R1ED, I forgot to mention on the previos post.
PPS: Where exactly do you find your CID, because I've been looking in the software part of the menu, and it says nothing about CID49 etc? Cheers

SE Rules, try to delete the db folder in Update Service folder. And launch SEUS again. See what happens. |

@SE Rules:
CID isn't written there in firmware info. If you run Wotan Client, you'll see that..
I don't know why SEUS stops updating the phone after 98%. Does the phone works just fine after that half-update? Post the firmware info here, please. |

@aremaboy
it doesn't update. just jump to 98% from 0%. and bact to main screen. and phone is remain the same.
I already format my pc and install windows again but still got the problem. now I'm thinking about one thing. I've P990i's pc-suite on my computer. so I don't install K800i's pc-suite becouase both are mixedup and doesn't work. so I've only installed the driver from original cd and use MyPhoneExplorer. so may be it is the main problem that driver is too old. now i'm going to install my xp again. and install only K800i's pc-suite (need for update driver) then going to try again. I think this the last thing as I can do. I'll let you know what happened. |

Hi Guys!
Sorry for the lack of activity over the last two months - I have been stuck over in Dublin, Ireland since the start of February! As a matter of fact, I am there as we speak - but at least I have broadband now!
I have updated the first post to include R1JE and R1JG. Whilst I have had a quick skim through the posts in this thread over the last two months, I may well be missing some important bug fixes/new bugs/operator specific changes. I would be grateful if people could PM me if they see any mistakes or missing data in the first post.
Thanks,
Mike |
