"Does anybody know , why there is an option "Continue anyway" in SEUS , as i have the latest firmware installed ?"
This is probably if you for some reason got a previous update that went bad (the phone doesn´t start etc). With this option you may try again. |

I agree that it is useless to use an app as a wallpaper, but the phone which has mp3 player, camera and so on it is for music listening, taking pictures and so on.

I wouldn't say useless, just think about all the possibilities: a wallpaper that shows your appointments for the day, calendar, an analog clock, headlines for your favourite news site etc etc. We could see a similar "homescreen" or "today screen" featured in other phones.

I updated my k800 to R1ED001 using the online service today on thebus on the way home from my job. It worked fine without any problems. The update is free of charge from but I will probably charged a bit for the 3MB+ download by my operator, so I don't know which is cheapest, this update or Wotan's. The update is also available on SEUS for free, though, at least that's what I have heard.
Apart from the fixes listed in the first message in this topic, I have found the following improvements/changes:
- The notes app can now handle more than 5 notes without problems. Before, the 6:th note somehow was miced up with the 5:th, at lest in my phone.
- The internet button now have a short delay so that it is not activated directly, probably to prevent starting the internet connection by mistake when you press the left softkey.

I was trying to find out his problem because it seems that he was talking about the EROM issue be WE ALL know that this is really no issue even with or without the upgrade and I was going to tell him that he did not need to worry about it as my phone is still on the old EROM and working without incident.

Why did it seem like that? I had no problems understanding what he was asking (hence the quote), posting the firmware data might have been unnecessary, but you never know.
I really hope we can keep this thread atleast somewhat civilized. There's no need for ANYONE to attack someone, just because that something has been answered before, there's some misspelled words, the answer is "common knowledge" for others or the poster seems to have an unpleasant personality. |

@altemyr:
Thanks for also confirming that there's a second or two delay when accessing the internet button. I have posted this phenomenon few days ago but nobody could verify that. I used to think something wrong with my unit. mwarner should add this improvement in the 1st post. Thanks. |

Other finding:
During USB file transfer, and you activate charging, NOW you can see the green battery icon at top right with lightning as a symbol of recharging. As I remembered, it didn't appear in the R1BC, so now you can be sure that your phone is doing the process.

Yes, you need the flash drivers. They are already embedded with the SEUS itself. Just hold the C button of the phone (in off condition) and Windows will prompt a dialog, just click Next and done. As the flash drivers are installed, SEUS is ready to update yours. Good luck. Anyway, are you fasting too? Just looking from your name..sorry if not..didn't mean anything offensive.

how did you install the application? by using the .jar file or the .jad file?
you do need to use the jad file as this sets the installation to enable it to be used as a standby app.
Gavin
edit:
i just tried installing it on my phone (firmware: R1CB001, not latest) and it will install fine using the .jar file but if i try to use the .jad to install it, it says "operation failed" i suspect that the line in the .jad file that makes it fail is the "SEMC-StandbyApplication: Y" at the end and this feature is added in the new firmware.

Hello.
I also gets "operation failed" when I try to install the .jad.
Anyway, as you pointed out the .jad file is probobly the key to my problems. I just have to wait for some more developed application that is possible to install.
Thank you for a very good answer. |

Re: operation failed. try this
download any application (try getjar.com) only the .jar is needed
put it into the folder named "other" using the data cable
run it from inside the phone
your problem will then be gone
well, that worked for me

Psycho Dave, i didnt point out that both files need to be on the phone, in "other" as the guy above me suggested, all jad files do is point to the jar file (the actual application) and save some configuration in them (such as this background application enable) which gets stored on installation.
ensure you do have both in the same location before installation and are running the jad file (check the file type in "information")
Gavin
im sure as soon as uk updates are available the first post in this topic will be updated. be patient and keep an eye out there!
