Hey there. I have an N80 and it is a great phone. The WiFi is excellent and the video quality is superb. 2 Things that it definitely has the edge over the K800 on. However I have had a few issues with my new memory card not being recognised. Sometimes it's fine, others it just doesn't recognise it. V Annoying as the solution is (so far) to re-format the card and lose all data. Painful.

I have only had it a week and I will probably need to charge the battery every night to get the most out of the phone. At times I feel a bit selective about making calls in order to preserve the battery on the second day. Again a bit of a pain.

That said, the browser is amazing and the software is great. For me though, I am still in a quandry about what to do as I have 1 week left to decide under the 14 day no quibble exchange with Carphone Warehouse. If the memory card remains stable I can live with charging every night. If not I will be trading for a K800 next week.

Everything good you have heard about the N80 is every bit as good as people say. The negatives have mainly been sorted by latest f/w but as you can tell from my experience there are still a few issues.

Hope this is helpful.

Depends on what u want...
if you want the most 'advanced' one get n80 (smartphone, wifi, bigger screen, better video quality, etc). If u dont mind these features, have a shorter budget and/or really like to the point of buying a phone just because of ´s UI inspite of features, like some do here, get k800.

Well I agree with the points stated above about the K800. Basically if you don't use the features in a smartphone then you may as well buy the K800 (which is only out in three days ). N80 is better than the K800 in all areas apart from music and camera, so really it is up to the smartphone features.

I got the N80, had the T610, k700, k750 then w800. Was waiting for the K800 but finally took the N80 for free as an upgade (thought I would try it under the O2 14day guarantee).

Excellent phone, more of a computer in your pocket really. All the above + points are true, never had a memory issue (I am using a 2gb card - £35). the music is great, but I am not a music expert.

The WIFI is AMAXING, superb for when the laptop is in use, plus the email scheduler can download my emails when the WIFI is in range, plus the podcast software auto downloads when WiFi is in range.

It is more than a phone, it is a computer.

Just waiting for TomTom to be made available and then it will have full sat nav.

It does come with some GPS applications in the memory, they are hidden and you have to dig to find them but it gives basic sat nat info, speed, long/lat, alti, waypoints etc.

The camera is good but I am sure the k800 will be better, but I have now experimented enough and know the limitations of the camera so can now get the best from it and it is better than the w800 and also my 3mp 3 year old digi cam.

all in all I am really happy with it.

Nokia give you so much more with this phone than the w800. Hope SE do the same with the k800.

3.5mm jack converter as standard is just 1 thing.

The best thing you an do is try the phone first. I have the N80 and personally have had no issues with it since day one, I can average about two days worth of use from it.

My last phone was the Sony Ericsson W900i and to be honest I can find no real difference in the sound quality on the music players on both.

A couple of things to bear in mind, the SE K800 has autofocus so pixtures will be sharper, pictures taken outside on the N80 are on a par with the K800 having compared pictures circulating with the release firmware.

Also the SE K750 was notorious for dust collecting in and around the joystick which has caused problems and the joystick on the K800 is similar.

The K800 looks like a fantastic phone but at the end of the day what you want out of a phone is not necessarily the same as everyone else on here, the N80 has a lot of add on programmes which means you can do more with it.

The N80 is not marketed as a phone but as a multimedia device so think about what you want. If need be wait until the K800 is launched and then go to your local phone shop and ask to see demos of both phones.

Good luck in your choice

I'm currently thinking about upgrading to to the K800 too, but im now split weather I should have a look at te N80, I don't particularly need a smartphone and haven't had one since my P900 a few years ago, saying that I haven't had a nokia for 5 years, I think im more curious about the technological advances.

My SE's have served me well, and reluctant to go back, but im liking the sound of the features on the N80, but the battery life would annoy me.

Maybe I'll do the stupid thing and get both lol

Battery life is poor, but it is only week 2 and I am still "training" the batter. There is a 1400mah (twice the capacity of standard) battery about so I will wait for someone to feedback if it is better, but remembering what I am like with any new gadget I do play with them extensivley for the first couple of months until I get the best bits mastered then probably go to about 50% usage compared to the first months.

so all in all the battery will have been trained and I will have stabalised my usage.

At the moment I am getting 1 day but I am using it for the 2hours commute playing MP3, 2 hours in the evening of wifi, lan searching is always on, bluetooth is always on, offline web browsing about 1 hour a day, photo browsing about 20 minutes. Oh and about 10 minutes calls.

So not bad considering its not got a hugh big car battery.
