I tested the second files and third files to. They both have a higher hissing level, but better sound quality IMO. So there's a dilemma.

Eventually I reverted back to the first files. Then I combined the first files with the test files askd posted. This seems like the best combination to me.

The hissing stays at the level of the first files and the sound quality is at the same level of the third files.

Is this making any sense ASKD? Or is it just me getting tired after listening to the same songs for hours and reprogramming the phone over and over again? lol

dunno for sure mate....thats why I posted it up as test...lol same thing happened to me I really could'nt differentiate after a while.....but the first.....third combo does have a bit more noise than the first only....we'll like I said after my exams I'll sit down to some hardcore modding and then re-build the drivers from scratch...with help from some of you chaps who are interested to help.......

One more development.....I think its possible to get the equaliser settings what you are using in the Mediaplayer to work in the radio....still under development though. For now if you chaps could jsut mix and match the drivers I posted and post back what works best for all would cut out a lot of my work.

Thanks,
Akshay

Ok I've re-coded 2 W900 acoustic driver for the W800....tell me if you guys feel any differnce....if need be we'll re-code every possible driver of the W900 to suit the W800.....the difference between the W900 and W800 drivers are the W900 drivers are 4kb while the W800 ones are 5kb...there are fewer bits in the W900 drivers for some reason.....

Just copy this into your directories dont think you'll find any difference in sound qualtiy but its one step foward to a permanent solution to the hissing problem.

So now i've got a combination af the files from the first post + the handset_play.apf from the test files + the 2 files from the W900.

Seems like the sound quality has improved with the last two files. Sound is fuller and a little less sharp in the high tones.

Volume is way up, so this can't be a problem.

The hissing stays the same so this is good.s

No distortion at high volumes when using manual equalizer settings

Haven't ckecked megabass yet, but to be honest I don't care ...

Does anyone still has the original files from the acoutic folder with firmware R1BC002? I didn't backup them with the first release. I really would like to compare the sound quality I have now with the original quality! Could someone please mail them to me? tnx

Yes, less sharp on high tones with w900 files, I preferred w800 files.

Sorry by my English, use a translator because not to be written it much. After so many tests that you have done, you could raise the correct package of drivers? , it is that I am becoming a mess with so many changes. A great work stays doing. Thanks

Agreed. Can we have just one collection of all drivers to be tested as it is starting to get a bit confusing to add this, then that and a dash of salt as well.

We'll now I'm catering to the tastes of different people...some want less noise...some dont mind a little more noise but want better soudn at higher volumes...I'll compile different driver packs for different outputs but for now the drivers that reduce maximum sound are the first ones.......the rest are all beta drivers meant for TESTING only.

From now onwards I'll post test drivers and ttell you which is the test ones and which are the final ones.....

For complete noise reduction please download the FIRST set of drivers. Any changes to the drivers will be posted in the first post.

Hello, thanks for the clarification, have just tried the files of the first post, it first that I have the firmware R1BD001 "beta" in W800, and the VHF_hca file -60_play.apf not has it, but has 2 files that in the file package are not and it are the following:
VHF_2500_play.apf
VHF_2501_play.apf.
After making several proofs with the same files of music going up and by going down the volume my conclusion is that is to hear with but quality the files that have I, is single my appraisal appreciation, maybe my musical ear is not good therefore you puts this --link-- in order that taste those who I have with this firmware to see that appears you.
Best regards

Excellent work...those drivers are totally re-coded are they orignal R1BD? I'm just uploading them...lets see what improvements they have undergone.

@g-roxx....I saw that thanks mate.....I uploaded the W550 driovers..killed all sound on my phone....I then altered them to suit the W800 but the music is only playing in the stereo widening off mode which is something mono output....have to figure out which bit enables the stereo output and enable it....so it will be permanently enabled

Well, I can add this. You can't just copy all the W550 files as you end up with very bad sound. You also can't copy all the w900 files as you'll end up with no sound at all.

tiggerbcn...your files are good...hiss is still present but I'm not sure its any less than R1BC but I feel its a bit less......mongoose could you check them too...bass is exactly like R1BC and hiss is considerably less.
