I've just bought a music cable (MMC-60) to play mp3s through my car radio.

The music cable is connected to my radio via a Soundlinx auxillary interface to my radio's CD changer interface. This works fine on it's own.

I also have a HCB30 (HCB700 in my wife's car) installed, but have found that when I connect the music cable to my handset, any incoming call is transferred to the handset rather than the handsfree (the handsfree setting is set to transfer any incoming call to the handsfree).

If I choose (via handset menu) to transfer the sound to the handsfree then then any playing MP3 is muted and the call can be heard through the car speakers. But this is not a useable solution! I just want any incoming call to be automatically transferred to my handsfree as usual.

I know that there is a 'Stereo Music Box HCE-26' available, but I'm using an autoleads telemute interface lead because my car is a ford and don't have ISO connectors (as on all the SE cables). This is why I've now had to purchase a MMC-60 to play the music.

Any ideas as to how to resolve this problem and stop calls being transferred to the handset?

Cheers,

Dave J

Once you connect a cable it's going to use the cable audio out in preference over the handsfree for all audio I suspect.

The SE FAQ for the MMC-60 actually states:

>> Question:
>> When my phone rings, why can't I hear the ringtone in the loudspeakers?
>> Answer:
>> The MMC-60 is a pure music cable

In other words, only music from the media player will be heard from the device connected to the music cable - not call related audio etc.

My experience is that whilst the music cable is connected, all calls are transferred to the handset and are heard through the ear speaker on the handset - not via the music cable. The MMC-60 and handsfree are not used for the call.

The call is definitely transferred to the handset - a message to that effect is displayed on the handset.

Has anyone else tried this combination yet?

K750i + MMC-60 + Handsfree (all connected at the same time)

Cheers,

Dave J

you are probably right. On the other hand a hpm 70 will transfer all audio to car stereo.

The reason the phone doesn't transfer calls to the mmc-60 is probably because it doesn't prompt a profile change so therefore call audio just goes to the handset. Haver you tried manually changing the profile while the mmc is connected?

I have the same problem. Connecting the MMC-60 Music Cable disables Bluetooth headset (HBH-660), and the existing call reverted from Bt headset to phone. Anybody tried to use audio accessories connected to Fastport (deskstand, speakers, MMR-60 etc.) and Bluetooth handsfree same time? Is there anything works together with Bluetooth headset?

Just tried it with a W850 plugged in my car stereo with an MMC-60 and connected my HBH-IV835 and it's the same thing. When I initiated a call, it automatically transferred to the phone and would not allow me to take the call through the bluetooth headset.

I'm so glad I came across this topic. I almost made the same mistake, using MMC-60 + handsfree device. Thanks for finding this out!

Perhaps the W810 is different? Or doesn't know what they are talking about, as I just received the following in response to an inquiry I sent on this subject.

It is possible to use the MMC-60 cable and HBH-PV705 headset simultaneously. This may not be the case with all accessories.

The MBW-100 BT watch can be used at the same time as the MMC-60 music cable - is has to be because when you are listening to music you can FFWD & RWND, PLAY and PAUSE from the watch.

So with some accessories this function has been enabled.
