Sorry, the best camera phone remains k800i. Sad true . Photo quality is practicaly the same. But k800i has got xenon flash. Bestpic function. And fast menu. Time to take photo is 2x shorter than n73. |

While I see your point in photo mode - at night that is, I am at a loss to see it as a advantage in the video capture mode. A camera module must be good at both in my opinion. (last year was another story thou) Just look at the macro mode - even a SE fan has to admit/accept the hi quality. Also keep in mind the N73 is a S60 phone - not 'just a cellphone' with a nice video/photo cam !

Let's all remember this is a forum and there is alot of bias going on.
As a true Diehard fan, I will be honest and unbiased when it comes to this comparison.
Currently has no answer for the N73. N73 blows away with this model. Be true to yourselves all of you fans out there.

Check this out, taken with k800i, some using BetsPic, no way N73 could even get a little close to that!

Hi all,
As pointed out by REO if you can get over being an SE loyal supporter and get rid of all the preconceived ideas you have you would all be pleasantly surprised or Not.
The N73 is a S60 3rd Edition phone so forget about slow menus or buggy software because the reality is very different. The screen is large bright and clear, the camera is recognized as being superb by nearly all. It may not have best pix or a Xenon flash. But on every other additional feature it can not be matched never mind beaten and yet is around the same price.
I have not heard of one of these phones dyeing by simply failing to turn on after charging, look at how many different threads there are on this forum with My K800 died, niggles and problems and bugs and then try and find any similar on N73. The only charge against the N73 i have seen is from one person that the screen cracks easily and only here have i heard that.
Buy and choose what ever you wish after all it is your choice and money but don't just be loyal to one brand for the sake of it, i never am i always choose what suits me best at that moment in time for me.
I am now selling my N73 but only because i now have a N93 and to whoever said the K800 beats the N93 on video well really that's just plain stupid the N93 does video @640x480 30fps nothing else in the market even comes close add to that a 330mhz processor 50mb ram with soon to be 24.75mb on startup. Yes it is large but not much bigger than my previous P series phones and i use mine always in Landscape/Laptop mode which just requires opening the flip to the right and that is both quick and easy.
It was my intention to get either a M600 or P990 but because i no longer jump in and watched the threads develop on the problems people were encountering i held off. All i can say is i am glad i did as currently i wouldn't swop my N93 for both of them. I am not a Nokia Fan Boy nor do i hate SE i just believe i am realistic in what i will and won't accept. Choose what suits you and enjoy it but please be a bit more realistic in you criticism and try and base it on fact rather than bias.

I bought the K790i the day it hit the shops in my city... the camera WAS great... I used "WAS" because the phone died within 48 hours (blank white screen ... won't start up). The dealer was willing to have the set fixed or even give a swap but I was too pissed off to accept such nonsense. Got the N73 when it became available and its been great so far. Not a single crash. The K790's camera only has the edge over the N73 when you consider features like Bestpic and xenon flash... no big difference otherwise. Also, The N73 handles other multimedia functions like video and music playback far better than the K790. I won't be touching another SE until the W950 comes along. IMO SE is making a big mistake by segregating imaging and music functions.

after being faithful to SE for so long was considering getting an n73. Only really due to it being a smart phone and cheaper memory. But the huge advatange for me for the k800i is the xenon flash. I take a lotta of night photos when i go out and i think i can finally have pictures without crappy noise and i know and led flash doesn't cut it. So looks like a k800 for me.
wish the w950 had a 3mp camera then i would have weighted for that. i really hate the limited os of SE K800s but at least the UI is so much better than nokia symbian ones. |

Dont forget the larger that life screen that N73 comes with compared to the pathetic increase in size of the screen for SEK800(1.9'' to 2.0'').
Dont forget that SE is using substandard materials, a joystick so crap its unbelievable they put it on this phone. K800 will give you maximum 15months of usage before you'll see discolouring etc etc.
The price of SE phones drop very quickly so if you sell it after a year, you're in for a big loss.
I am not anti SE, i own a SE my self, but the truth is the truth and you have to face it.
I forgot, N73 has "BOTH" EDGE and 3G so I dont have to sell my entire phone if i plan to use EDGE instead of 3G, which i probably must do if I get a K800.

The price of Nokia phones drop quicker. After N70 for a few months, they released N73. |

that doesnt mean that nokia prices drops quicker... a nokia is always easier to sell then se, so nokia DO keeps the price for longer

Obviously, the prices drop quicker because there's a newer version of that phone model. |
