So, you stated something as new that wasn't and you admit to fee-avoidance? Remind me of your eBay id so that I can block you. [addsig]

I didn't though thats the thing.
I told him it was used and before he made a bid I immediately told him that it was used once. I guess I should have wrote "As New" but I am VERY clear about that, and with this specific person, I TOLD him it wasn't new

@abs,
How the hell am I avoiding fees?
Tell me how?

You can choose how you want someone to pay you right?
I accepted cheque, bank deposit and paypal.
I said I'd prefer bank deposit so I don't have to pay fees with paypal.

Do you understand what I'm saying.

If you are so quick to judge I don't think I"d want to do any business with you in the first place! Do you even know me and the type of person I am?

He is a bit of a knob, couldn't even understand half of what he said in that email!

Though if it was headlined 'brand new', it could be a tad misleading.... have you a link to the actual auction?

Ok here is the full story.

I sold TWO SD's.
I basically copied my San Disk listing and forgot to change the header.

However I swear on my mothers life I wrote that it was used once and told this specific person that it was used before he bid.

Here are the listings.

I even offered this guy a refund and extremely apologized for the confusion! but he's asking for more than just that!

My point is, before anything happened he sent emails with a crap tone.

People on this forum know me as an honest and reliable person.
Why would I ruin my rep for the sake of 35 pounds?

Looking at the actual listing, I have to say it is a little misleading. It only says in brackets that the actual auction is for the used Speedy card rather than the brand new ones. You would have been better with just a picture of the card in question, and not mentioned that it was 'brand new'.

However, the seller has made far too much of it, and has been quite unreasonable, though I can empathise a little with his position. If I was him I'd settle for a part refund, especially as the card is fully working.

I personally realize that I am at fault here.
But I offered a FULL refund, except for postage.

Is it just me or is me asking to be paid by deposit NOT 'fee' evasion?
I don't understand how abs says that if I want to be paid by deposit I'm doing something wrong.

Ah, didn't realise you were offering him a full refund, minus postage! Sounds fair to me, he's just been unreasonable, though as a goodwill gesture I'd refund him the excess postage though. If he still complains, report HIM to Ebay.

You've learnt something about how to word listings the hard way there, you may well get a neg but take it on the chin, in the end it'll almost be a relief when it happens, at least then you're not 'dreading' it happening later!

No, charging £6 postage for a single SD card is fee evasion.

And don't PM me again. Jeez.

why is it fee evasion?!
I don't understand.
I guess I don't understand how ebay works then.

abs, you're an idiot, you're also probably the person who won the sd card.

edit: you act like a little child. You don't know me at all. However isn't it nice that you managed to get another person to dislike you and they don't even know you?

and what the hell am I evading? 10p?

update: the guy replied after I offered a refund and he's basically been insulting.
After the card arrives I'll just forget about him.

that £6 is not just for postage though, its handing fees aswell, you have to take time out to pack the product and non of us know how much amnesias time is worth so you cant tell no1 if there packaging fee is reasonable or not

Of course you can. Most eBayers do it with every transaction. [addsig]

its an easy mistake to make and at the end of the day if the buyer chooses to buy when the postage price is there clearly then that is their choice.

I too have made the same mistake when clicking through the pages trying to get an item listed quickly.

Indeed I have also bought items where I felt the postage was way too high but I tend to just consider the total price and if I am happy with that, I buy, if not, I don't

I don't think this thread needs to get hung up on this issue as clearly the buyer did buy and pay in this case.

The issue seems to me to be more about the "newness" of the card
